I co-wrote this RL environment FAQ with @datagenproc from @EpochAIResearch:
Frontier labs are investing massively in RL environments, yet most of what happens in this space stays behind closed doors. @chrisbarber and @js_denain interviewed 18 people from RL environment startups, neolabs, and frontier labs. Here's what they found:

Last night I had dinner with @bubbleboi and @insane_analyst The most surprising thing was learning one of them doesn't really use LLMs at all and the other often uses grok Exercise left to the reader to figure out which is which

I have tremendous respect for @dylan522p for what he has done in the AI infrastructure and semiconductor industries in terms of democratizing information, especially at a time when these markets have probably become among the world's most important. When I was at Wccftech, I frequently quoted Dylan's work when SemiAnalysis was a small team, and it's a sight to see where his team has come to. Also, @FundaAI does amazing work, and it resonates with me because they have managed to find an intersection in conveying information, driven by AI-focused implementations.
I asked people: "Which AI equity related newsletters do you like?" The list: Top voted: - SemiAnalysis by @dylan522p @fabknowledge ( more incl @SKundojjala @andrewlekashman) - 5 votes - FUNDA @FundaAI - 5 votes - Citrini Research by @Citrini ( @zephyr_z9 @jukan05 and more) - 4 votes - Irrational Analysis by @insane_analyst - 3 votes - Vik's Newsletter by @vikramskr - 3 votes - Fabricated Knowledge by @fabknowledge - 2 votes 1 vote each: - Semi Doped by @semidoped - Key Context by @firstadopter - PhotonCap by @PhotonCap - Nutty by @NuttyCLD - ChinAI by @jjding99 - Interconnects by @natolambert - Beyond The Hype by @enertuition - TMT Breakout by @TMTBreakout - Tech Taiwan - Damnang by @damnang2 - Semiconductor Business Intelligence by @clausaasholm - SemiVision by @semivision_tw - Alex_Intel_ by @Alex_Intel_ Thanks to @TMTBreakout, @BenBajarin, @EricJhonsa, @TMTLongShort, @TBU12345678, @damnang2, @jaygoldberg, @Midnight_Captl, @illyquid, @mzuhair123, @bubbleboi, @insane_analyst, @lithos_graphein for the recs. Thank you so much for including FUNDA — we’re truly honored. We have huge respect for SemiAnalysis, Citrini and many others on this list, and still have a lot to learn from them. We’ll keep working hard.

it seems that glm 5.2 may be the chatgpt moment for open source models i asked a few people and all felt that opus was somewhat better, but not significantly better now imagine when individual users stopped being subsidized

I'd love to see LLM benchmarks move to reporting intelligence per second and intelligence per dollar, perhaps by re-running the eval with time and spend limits For enterprises paying API prices, intelligence per dollar is probably the metric For subsidized users, int/s
