San Francisco police officers shut down the annual street fireworks shows in the Mission District this year, as they do most years. Officers moved block by block, giving dispersal orders & yelling "Move!" The crowds retreated quickly, & soon thinned.

Went out for breakfast today and my dad was chatting up our waitress. We learned that she had a baby just the week before and this was her first day back. I hate this country so much. Every woman and child deserves at least a couple months of paid maternity leave.

Update: our fam was waiting in line for our last coaster of the day. People with the fast pass kept cutting us in line. Just before our turn the coaster broke down leaving the line cutters in the blazing VA sun for a solid 30 minutes. Feels like some justice was served.
