Humanoid robots are now patrolling the streets alongside police officers in southern China, attracting public attention as they interact with citizens.
Spotted in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, these high-visibility robots walk in formation with officers, wave to crowds, shake hands, and respond to voice commands.
Known as the PM01, this 1.38-meter (4.5-foot) humanoid robot is built for research and human-robot collaboration.
Weighing 40 kg (88 lbs), it moves at 2 m/s (4.5 mph) and runs for up to two hours per charge and costs 88,000 yuan (US$12,000).
