Controversial opinion And I stand by it: Most Web3 brands are not failing because of the bear market. They are failing because they were never brands to begin with. A token is not a brand. A Discord server is not a community. A roadmap is not a vision. A whitepaper is not a story. Web3 taught founders to obsess over mechanics and completely ignore meaning. And when the hype faded when the numbers dropped and the crowd moved on there was nothing left to hold people. No identity. No emotional anchor. No reason to stay. The projects that are still standing today did not survive because their tech was superior. They survived because people believed in something beyond the price chart. That belief does not happen by accident. It is architected. It is built through deliberate brand strategy through narrative, positioning, consistency and a deep understanding of what your community actually needs to feel before they ever make a decision. Web3 does not have a building problem. It has a brand identity crisis. And until founders start treating their brand with the same seriousness they give their smart contracts the cycle of abandoned projects and broken communities will keep repeating.
