SF-based @weaverobotics launched Isaac 1, a wheeled mobile home robot that tidies rooms, makes beds, folds laundry, and puts items away → Telescopic body adjusts from 3 ft to 5'9" → Dual arms with AI-powered perception → Hardware controls physically disable cameras when not in use When the robot hits an edge case, a remote operator subs in temporarily then hands control back. $7,999 or $449/month, California deliveries fall 2026

The robotics sector is about to completely take off. Robotics is tracing the exact same growth curve as software AI, just a few years behind. We are likely entering the beginning of exponential growth for this ecosystem. At current capabilities, robotics intelligence is at the level of roughly GPT-2. (Capable, but lacking real-world field deployment) Things are about to change. Manufacturing costs and the general robotics cost curve is rapidly declining (Issac is only $8000!). So bullish on the future of this sector.

Thanks for having us on! Excited for home robots to free y’all up to do more great interviews
SITUATION EXPLAINED: Why is consumer robotics really about giving you your time back? @evan_wineland and @kaandogrusoz, co-founders of @weaverobotics "Consumer robotics are ultimately about giving you optionality in the limit. You always have the option to do any of these things, but you'll then have choice about whether to offload that." "Consumer robotics done right, if they're accepted by people, they actually drive value in the home. They give you lots of discretionary time back that you can use for literally whatever you deem worth your time." "That could be spending time with your loved ones or on your craft, or even just sleeping or relaxing." "It's going to be really nice to have a helper in your home that you can offload these things to when you want and only when you want."

SITUATION EXPLAINED: Why is cooking the ultimate humanoid AGI test path? We asked @evan_wineland and @kaandogrusoz, co-founders of @weaverobotics "Cooking is, I think, one of the hardest tasks you can build up to in home robotics. It's extremely multimodal. If you think about how we cook, we rely on scent, we rely on touch, we rely on timing, we rely on recipes, we rely on very fine-grained details and visuals." "It's a task where timing really matters. Do this thing for 30 seconds only. You have no... it's like, I failed at flipping the steak, let me try again for another minute. Everything has to be in sync. That's a really good humanoid AGI test path." "The reason we went for laundry folding first is it's something people do a lot and generally do not want to do. There are very few people who would say, 'I view it as my art.' Cooking is a form of art for some people. Laundry folding is way more unobjectionable."

We want to be the opposite of the gimmicky robotics companies We'd rather ship a thoughtfully designed product that does well at core use cases and gets more capable for you over time And if today's response is any indicator, this resonates
I love how beautifully they’ve blended technology, design, and real utility. Isaac 1 - the home robot launch by @weaverobotics team. Congratulations @evan_wineland and the entire Weave team!! My favorite detail is the privacy thoughtfulness - movable eyelids, so you can literally put him to sleep when you want. Yes, the applications are still limited today, but the honesty around what Isaac 1 can do right now actually makes me more excited for the long-term vision. It feels promising, not gimmicky.
