It’s been amazing to watch their journey from pulling off two successful international film festivals. They sure do have amazing taste and I am very excited to experience the next one!
Two 18-year-olds think the next Miyazaki could come from anywhere and that a YouTuber can win an Oscar So they rented Tokyo’s top auditorium for Tokyo’s biggest AI Film Festival They’re flying finalists in from anywhere, with a ¥2.5M prize pool Applications open

Pretty disappointed with CODEX lately. Building a platform and included an entry for Image Model which is supposed to identify any Image Model. Even after multiple iterations, it couldn't identify some of the models including GPT Images 2.0 or Nano Banana. And this was it's response: You’re right to call that out. I understood the words, but I failed on the implication. @OpenAI @gdb

I guess we have just crossed the uncanny valley for video gen!
Seedance 2.0 on OpenArt AI Prompt: Main subject: young Korean woman, early 20s, natural everyday appearance, faded charcoal-grey sleeveless crop top, loose high-waisted light-wash jeans, black canvas sneakers, black cord necklace, black wavy hair in a messy side ponytail with wispy bangs. Realistic skin texture, minimal makeup, warm and approachable personality. Maintain consistent identity, clothing, hairstyle, and appearance throughout the entire video. Location: Authentic Korean residential neighborhood during a calm late morning. Narrow concrete alleys, low-rise homes, small terraces, potted plants, laundry lines, bicycles, utility poles, overhead wires, mature trees casting moving shadows, quiet residential atmosphere. No stores, advertisements, cafés, crowds, or commercial activity. Visual Style: Ultra-realistic documentary realism. Genuine candid behavior. Natural body language. Unscripted slice-of-life feeling. Strong environmental authenticity. Rich real-world details and believable human motion. Camera Style: Early-2000s consumer DV camcorder aesthetic. Friend casually recording everyday moments. Heavy handheld shake, imperfect framing, frequent autofocus hunting, lens breathing, exposure pumping when moving between sun and shade, occasional motion blur, subtle rolling shutter, mild digital compression artifacts, faded colors, soft contrast, slight sensor noise. No stabilization. No cinematic camera moves. No modern color grading. 00:00–00:02 Outside a small house entrance. She sits on a low concrete wall adjusting her ponytail with both hands raised. A light breeze moves loose strands of hair. She smiles naturally while the camera struggles to hold focus. 00:02–00:04 The camera follows her into a narrow alley lined with potted plants and concrete walls. She notices a stray cat approaching and crouches down. Framing drifts off-center as the operator tries to keep up. 00:04–00:06 She gently pets and feeds the cat. Autofocus repeatedly shifts between her face and the animal. Morning sunlight flickers through leaves overhead. 00:06–00:08 Small front yard beside her house. She hangs laundry on a clothesline while fabrics sway in the breeze. Exposure changes as clouds briefly pass overhead. 00:08–00:10 On a quiet terrace with a ceramic coffee cup. She sits comfortably watching the neighborhood, occasionally brushing hair behind her ear. Loose handheld side angle with natural camera drift. 00:10–00:12 Close side profile. Someone off-camera greets her. She turns, raises her hand, smiles warmly, and casually says, “Annyeong.” The camera catches the moment slightly late. 00:12–00:15 Walking slowly down a tree-lined residential lane holding her coffee cup. She notices the camera, gives a small genuine smile, then looks away and continues walking. Recording cuts abruptly to black mid-motion as if the camcorder was switched off. Audio: Natural ambient sound only — morning birds, distant motorcycles, light wind, leaves rustling, faint neighborhood chatter, cat sounds, footsteps on concrete, fabric moving on clotheslines, subtle residential ambience. No music. No sound design. No narration. Goal: Authentic Korean neighborhood life captured like a forgotten home video from the early 2000s — candid, imperfect, realistic, warm, and deeply believable.

I love how beautifully they’ve blended technology, design, and real utility. Isaac 1 - the home robot launch by @weaverobotics team. Congratulations @evan_wineland and the entire Weave team!! My favorite detail is the privacy thoughtfulness - movable eyelids, so you can literally put him to sleep when you want. Yes, the applications are still limited today, but the honesty around what Isaac 1 can do right now actually makes me more excited for the long-term vision. It feels promising, not gimmicky.
Today, we’re launching our home robot Isaac 1. Isaac 1 deliveries will begin this fall. Order yours below.

Google's Nano Banana 2 Lite is extremely fast (<4s) & cheap ($0.034 / 1K image). It not only is cost-efficient but also has filled the gaps of Nano Banana Pro- such as text rendering.

LOL! What was that about don’t sell GPUs to China. That will handicap their progress. 🤔? Should always listen to Jensen. Kudos to the entire AI ecosystem in China. Not yet frontier but the pace is astounding. And all of it is open source - for everyone to learn and adopt.

Brain2Qwerty by @AIatMeta is an early proof that AI can extract language-like intent from non-invasive brain signals. It is opening a path toward safer, non-invasive communication tools for people who cannot speak. Along with that, it will help neuroscience understand how the brain turns intent into language and action.

Chinese models have been on roll in 2026 for video generation - from Kling AI 15s to much anticipated Seedance 2.5 With Open AI ChatGPT 2.0 still being the best image model (IMO), I wonder why American frontier labs still not able to compete with them in video models? Is it because the downstream industries like Hollywood are still not entirely embracing it, hence, demand issue or purely a data issue?

I am so excited about this! If the demos going around are even remotely real, I can confidently wager this is the Opus 4.5/4.6 moment of video models.

Got early access to @openart_ai vibe-directing tool "Director" - a conversational creative platform. And I am so impressed with it. All I had to do was provide it with an expressive prompt and it created a video capturing all the best parts of this city, even the 7 Girls of SF. Early signals - It does an amazing job with multiple scene switches and characters put across different scenarios but somewhat lacked in a major area - text rendering.

Any recommendation for tools/agents which can continuously monitor all my important tasks across emails/chats and create events on my calendar for the ones which I SHOULD attend to? **I procrastinated on a task which ideally should have taken 5 mins ended up eating my entire day. Learnt a pretty harsh lesson - courtesy of my procrastination - would certainly prefer not repeating that.

OpenArt might be the most non-traditional GenAI media platform right now. While everyone is competing on models, they’re experimenting with entirely new creative workflows. Smart Shot. Copysight. Now Vibe Directing. And honestly, Vibe Directing might be the feature that puts them in a league of their own!
The way videos are made is about to change. Introducing OpenArt Director - and a new way to create: VIBE DIRECTING. The same way vibe coding changed how software gets built, Vibe Directing changes how videos are made. All you need is an idea in your head and a conversation to see it come to life. Describe what you want. Chat it into perfection. Walk away with something only you could have imagined, with the quality only a professional could deliver. Because there's a director in all of us. 🎬

This photo made me stop for a second as it hit me that Soon robots won’t feel like a big announcement. They’ll just be standing around in our homes, offices, hospitals, airports… like, “yeah, that’s Steve, he handles logistics.”
