the hard part is the hardware systems & automations that can productionize BLDCs & actuators, but I also don't think venture is the right model to start there. scale maybe, but not start. the right software layer provides efficiencies for design / prototyping / production - that's what i'm trying to get to with some of the demos this past week
Exhibit A: @moaazsidat is doing more to prove to the venture community that the software layer in hardtech is not where investment is needed. We need to invest in the capex to build factories to rapidly turn, mill, coat, assemble, and deploy these things - that is millions of dollars of real machines and humans to cut alloys and wind copper. He vibe coded this in a weekend. Software's not a moat anymore, capacity is. #reindustrialize

if you’re designing & manufacturing actuators day to day would love to help with custom tooling to drastically reduce time to design, prototype and manufacture drop me a DM!
Brb starting a company building actuators designed only in this

I feel like the release of Fable buried this super important story. This is a trillion parameter model trained entirely on domestic Chinese chips. The team started three years ago in 2023 and it was a slog, lots of optimizations needed to make this possible. But it proved one thing — it’s just calculations, you don’t HAVE to have Nvidias. You can make do with less if you understand what you’re doing, and surprisingly, the “crappy” domestic chips aren’t as crappy as originally believed
🐱 LongCat-2.0 is now fully open-source — MIT licensed, no restrictions. Since our launch a few days ago, the response from the community has been incredible. Thank you for all the feedback, discussions, and interest. Today, we’re releasing the model weights and inference code to everyone. ◆ 1.6T MoE · ~48B active · 1M token context ◆ Agent-native: Integrates directly with Claude Code, OpenClaw, and Hermes Agent ◆ Deployment: Support both GPU and NPU platforms— verified on large-scale domestic clusters 📑 Tech Blog: longcat.ai/blog/longcat-2.0/ 🤗 HuggingFace: huggingface.co/meituan-longc… 💻 GitHub: github.com/meituan-longcat/L… 🪄 ModelScope: modelscope.ai/collections/me… 👇 Inference Code GPU: github.com/sgl-project/sglan… NPU: github.com/meituan-longcat/S…

祝、センサレスFOC。F302R8 IHM07だけで動きます。速度PIにて、7000rpmまでこんな感じで回ります。なお、電流制御は入れてません。ポーリングで200us周期で制御してます。

Nordspace has to be the most ambitious and the most underrated Canadian company atm Ad aspera ad astra!
Huge milestone at @Nord_Space! We’re officially printing the first Hadfield-150 chamber. When we test it later this year, it’ll be the most powerful rocket engine fired in Canadian history by a long shot — printed on the largest metal 3D printer in the country (owned and operated by NordSpace at RF-1). Just getting started …

here's the first pass, still need to double check some of the math here slowed down so that ramp up is visible link: tadisindustries.com/tools/ac…
if it can correctly solve the lagrangian to figure out how a flywheel on a planetary gear set will spin, i will be impressed

3D / Spatial reasoning has taken a huge step forward with Fable, night and day difference compared with what Opus was able to do
I'm testing Fable with my /render skill for modeling 3D objects. Same prompt: create a rack for 4 phones. The first model is generated with Opus; you can see several inaccuracies, and the model isn't optimal in terms of size and space. The second model generated by Fable is practically perfect on the first try. The addition of holes in the various compartments helps with cooling, and there are slots for charging cables. Fable wins hands down.

built an interactive actuator designer made this so anyone into robotics can understand actuators by playing with one, not reading a datasheet try it → buildyourownactuator.vercel.…
