Due to changes in the House voting schedule, tomorrow's Full Committee hearing, "Weathering the Solar Storm: Advancing America's Space Weather Capabilities," has been postponed.

Today, the greatest cosmic movie ever made begins filming on one of America's most powerful telescopes. @NSF and @ENERGY are kicking off a 10 year scientific endeavor at @VRubinObs to create an ultrawide, ultra high-definition, time-lapse record of the universe 💫

Last week the Science, Space, and Technology Committee advanced my AI Security and Innovation Act, which is part of my broader Great American AI Act. AI is the foundational technology of our time, and Congress must ensure the federal government has the technical expertise and evaluation capabilities needed to address emerging risks while keeping America at the forefront of innovation. This bipartisan bill establishes the Center for AI Security and Innovation within the federal government and takes an important step toward the AI governance framework recommended by the bipartisan House AI Task Force.

At this week's hearing, @RepNickBegich asked how many of DOJ's more than $52 million in cybersecurity-related False Claims Act recoveries in FY2025 stemmed from whistleblower allegations versus proactive government investigations.   DOJ responded that many of those recoveries originated from whistleblower-initiated cases and explained how whistleblower reports help inform enforcement efforts.   Watch the full exchange below. ⬇️

During Wednesday's hearing, @RepDarrellIssa emphasized concerns about the misuse of federal funds and asked whether agencies are leveraging available data resources to identify potential fraud and evaluate whistleblower allegations.

During Wednesday's hearing, Subcommittee Chairman @RepMcCormick raised an important question: Does the False Claims Act's record $6.8 billion recovery in FY2025 reflect a major enforcement success—or the sheer scale of fraud still occurring?   Watch expert witness Brenna Jenny's response below.
