This week, I strengthened my understanding of fundamental networking and Linux concepts that are essential in cybersecurity
Some key topics covered include:
* IPv6 addressing, hexadecimal notation, and address compression rules.
* Common network protocols and well-known ports (FTP, SSH, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, SMB,Kerberos, and more)
* Network communication concepts such as ARP, Unicast, Multicast, Broadcast, TTL, DNS, DHCP
(DORA), and the TCP Three-Way Handshake
* Windows troubleshooting commands like `ping and`ipconfig`.
* 8 Kali Linux fundamentals, including Linux directory structure, essential terminal commands, system administration, user management, and security concepts such as EDR, BitLocker, and phishing-resistant authentication.
Every lesson reinforces that a solid understanding of networking and operating systems forms the foundation of effective cybersecurity I'm excited to keep learning, building practical skills and growing in my cybersecurity journey,
