KADUNA STATE GOVERNMENT COMPLETES SCHOLARSHIP VERIFICATION ACROSS 18 TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS
The Kaduna State Government, through the Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board (KADSSLB), has successfully concluded a three-day physical verification and enrolment exercise held from 16–18 February 2026.
Led by the Executive Secretary, Professor Yahya Saleh Ibrahim, the exercise covered over 18 tertiary institutions across the North-East and North-West zones, targeting Kaduna State indigenes studying within and outside the state.
The verification process confirmed students’ credentials and indigene status, captured accurate data, and formally enrolled qualified beneficiaries into the 2025/2026 Local Scholarship Programme. This aligns with the directive of His Excellency, Governor Uba Sani, CON, to ensure transparency, accountability, and that financial assistance reaches only genuine Kaduna State students.
As part of Governor Uba Sani’s special scholarship intervention, immediate disbursements were made to students in the following institutions:
Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Kaduna State
Institute of Information Technology, Zaria
Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia
Federal University Dutse
Jigawa State University
University of Abuja
Federal University Lafia
Federal University Gusau
Federal College of Education, Gusau
Usmanu Danfodiyo University
University of Jos
Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University
Bauchi State University, Gadau
Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare
University of Maiduguri
Federal University Dutsin-Ma
Niger State University, Lapai
Federal University of Technology, Minna
These are in addition to nine previously verified tertiary institutions within Kaduna State, including FCCK Kaduna, Kaduna Polytechnic, Schools of Nursing in Kaduna, Pambegua and Kafanchan, and the College of Health Makarfi.
The Kaduna State Government reiterates that students pursuing medical and health-related courses are receiving special consideration, in line with our strategic focus on strengthening critical sectors.
Leadership of the visited institutions commended the Kaduna State Government for its proactive and timely intervention, particularly in easing financial pressures on students and their families during challenging economic times.
Participating students expressed appreciation to Governor Uba Sani for prioritising education and investing in the future of Kaduna State’s youth.
This intervention underscores the administration’s unwavering commitment to human capital development. By directly facilitating verification, enrolment, and prompt disbursement, the Kaduna State Government continues to promote transparency, inclusive education, and sustainable youth empowerment.
