“This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another.’” – Zechariah 7:9 (NIV)
Softball has a way of testing our hearts. There are tough losses, missed plays, frustrating calls, and moments when emotions can take over. In those moments, God calls us to something greater.
He tells us to be fair, show mercy, and have compassion for one another. That means encouraging a struggling teammate, respecting your opponents, and choosing kindness even when it’s difficult.
The strongest teams aren’t always the most talented—they’re the ones that care for each other, lift each other up, and put We > Me into action. When we lead with compassion, we play the game differently because our faith becomes bigger than our frustrations.
Today, let your actions reflect Christ. Show grace. Speak kindness. Lead with compassion. You never know how much someone else needs it.
Prayer: Lord, help us to treat others with mercy and compassion today. Give us hearts that are kind, words that encourage, and the strength to honor You in the way we treat people on and off the field. Amen.
