The Capability Consumer — The New Macroeconomic Layer We are witnessing the emergence of a new macroeconomic layer. This is neither a platform transition nor another product cycle. It is the gradual formation of a Capability Economy. Capability as Infrastructure Over more than two decades, an increasingly consistent structural proposition has been validated across multiple domains: Capability compounds when treated as infrastructure rather than lifestyle.Biological health, cognitive c apacity, financial resilience and institutional quality do not operate independently; together they determine whether households, organisations and economies are able to adapt, produce and sustain long‑term value. Consumers as Capability‑Bearing Agents The consequence is profound. Consumers are no longer best understood as endpoints within a value chain. They are capability‑bearing economic agents whose capacity to function increasingly shapes productivity, resilience and growth. A Fundamental Inversion in Capital Allocation This represents a structural inversion. Historically, investment has concentrated on products, services and channels of distribution. The next structural cycle will increasingly reward the systems that expand human capability itself, because capability underpins: labour productivity healthy longevity purchasing power innovation systemic resilience The New Strategic Question For investors, policymakers and business leaders alike, the central question is shifting from: “What are people buying?” to “What increases their capacity to create, sustain and compound value over time?” The most significant opportunities may emerge not within individual sectors such as healthcare, financial services or consumer markets, but within the infrastructure that connects them. This is the foundation of the emerging field of Capability Infrastructure. Up to 25% reduction in embodied carbon is achievable in buildings. The path to lower-carbon buildings starts with better material choices. This was one of the key insights shared by Praveen Kumar Soma while reminiscing about the impact of the All4NZBE project at the WorldGBC Global Solutions Forum 2026. Drawing from the project's pilot experiences, he highlighted how up to 25% reduction in embodied carbon can be achieved simply by replacing conventional construction materials with lower-carbon alternatives during the design stage. The discussion reflected on the progress and outcomes of the All4NZBE initiative, facilitated by the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) with strategic support from the We Mean Business Coalition, and implemented in India by WRI India in partnership with CII-IGBC. Key milestones from the initiative include: • 20 priority actions developed under the Thiruvananthapuram City Net Zero Action Plan. • Two multi-stakeholder coalitions established across participating cities to drive collective action. • Two cities progressing from strategic planning to pilot implementation. The All4NZBE project demonstrates that informed material choices, backed by collaboration and technical expertise, can translate ambitious net zero goals into measurable climate outcomes. #GlobalSolutionsForum2026 #WorldGBC #All4NZBE #NetZeroBuildings #EmbodiedCarbon #LowCarbonMaterials #ClimateAction #CII #IGBC #WRIIndia #BuildingTheTransition @WRIIndia @FollowCII @Follow_CIIGBC @WorldGBC_Europe

For at least 6,000 years, prior to the Industrial Revolution which was around 1760; the Earth’s natural processes operated in a state of #balance that was, in effect, a natural "#NetZero" carbon cycle. During this period, the amount of carbon dioxide entering the atmosphere through natural processes - such as respiration, decomposition, and volcanic activity - was roughly equal to the amount being removed by natural sinks, such as photosynthesis and ocean absorption. Currently, the #Earth is NOT "#NetZero" by nature. How do you reset the Earth to its original settings? The planet is experiencing rapid warming due to human-caused greenhouse gas emissions, which exceed the natural rate of carbon absorption. #NetZero is a GOAL requiring #human action. The #construction industry is a major disruptor of Earth's Net Zero goals, with the built environment (construction and operations) responsible for approximately 37% to 40% of global, energy-related emissions. The industry produces up to 3 billion tonnes of construction and demolition (C&D) waste annually, much of which is not recycled, leading to further methane emissions in landfills. A net-zero energy building is a highly energy-efficient structure by combining passive design (insulation, natural lighting) with active strategies (solar panels, heat pumps), these buildings drastically reduce energy demand and carbon emissions. #Fortune100 and #Fortune500 companies care significantly about #NetZeroBuildings, treating them as a critical component of their overall #CorporateSustainability, #RiskManagement, and #Decarbonization strategies. The global market for exterior wall systems (including curtain walls, cladding, EIFS) is experiencing a CAGR of roughly 7-8%, projected to exceed USD 312 billion by 2032. The shift toward "dry construction" (#drywall) over "wet construction" (brick/plaster) is driving up the square footage of prefabricated wall systems. Unified Intelligence has launched #CIRCATO Systems to claim our own market share in this exciting market. Inspired by nature; engineered for tomorrow, the exterior walls built by CIRCATO insulates the external temperature (heat or cold) from the interior of the building. This reduces the cost of energy in #HVAC by over FIFTY PERCENT. They are 40% lighter than the conventional exterior wall systems thus reducing the load burden on the structural framework. It has a superior fire rating of 90/150 minutes. CIRCATO dry walls can have a very W-I-D-E range surface finish enabling Architects to offer a wide range of finishing and shapes (including curved). The manufacturing technology by which these wall modules are made is #Thermofusion. That makes them extremely sturdy, unbreakable and rugged. The material used is single use plastic waste (#MLP). CIRCATO will consume millions of tonnes of this to produce extremely durable exterior walls to help construct #NetZeroBuildings.

Can a building be a power plant in disguise? 🔋🏢 India’s real estate is approaching a moment of redefinition — where buildings don’t just consume power, they create it. This is especially notable as the country just overtook Germany as the world’s third largest producer of wind and solar energy. With Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV); façades, windows, skylights, and even balustrades are now becoming active solar surfaces — blending seamlessly into the building design. The technology is already gaining traction in commercial buildings, greenhouses, and even educational institutions in markets like Japan and Australia. For India, where we are going to see significant new development over the next few years, future-readiness matters. This means embracing not just rooftop solar utilization, but solar-ready building codes that mandate orientation, wiring, and load design to support PV systems — from day one. BIPV brings an additional layer: - It preserves architectural aesthetics. - It addresses the limitations of shrinking window-to-wall ratios. - It frees rooftops for alternate uses like gardens or recreational zones. As developers and policymakers align toward India’s Net Zero 2070 target, buildings may no longer be passive assets — but energy-generating entities that serve both city grids and climate goals. lnkd.in/geA-_pRK #SolarArchitecture #BIPVIndia #NetZeroBuildings #UrbanSustainability #SmartDesign #RooftopSolar #CleanEnergyFuture
