The anatomy of a domestic food crisis: 🚜 Harvest Grinds to a Halt: Agricultural data confirms that Russia’s harvest is running two weeks behind schedule. Only 3% of the planned grain fields have been threshed—a staggering two-thirds drop compared to the same date last year. ⛽ Small Farms Left to Die: While the Kremlin hoards remaining diesel reserves for the military and elite state-backed mega-holdings, independent farmers are starved of fuel. ITFC has signed a US$3.3 billion Annual Financing Program with the Government of Bangladesh for the 2026-2027 financial year. The programme will support the import of petroleum products, LNG and fertilisers, helping strengthen Bangladesh’s energy and food security. It also builds on a long-standing partnership. Since 1977, ITFC and the IsDB Group have approved more than US$29.7 billion and out of which US$22.6 billion worth of trade financing facility was extended to Bangladesh, supporting access to critical imports and wider economic development.
