Compressor guide vanes are now going into the compressor split case. Some of these are instrumented with temperature and pressure sensors so we can measure exactly how the engine is performing.

Boom will be offering a prize—$50k cash and $50k in Boom stock—for the first amateur-built RC airplane to exceed Mach 1.

The way to move faster is to move faster. Sometimes Boom is able to overcome supply chain bottlenecks simply by responding to opportunity faster than anyone else. We bought 2GW of power metal that was unexpectedly available the day after Christmas, while the competition was still hung over on eggnog. Today we bought 12,000lb of titanium alloy and a $700k vacuum oven, both normally take 1 year but we get right away because we cut deals supersonically.

Our suppliers have fun writing BOOM whenever they make something for us. We've now received 2GW worth of powder metal superalloy, custom made to our spec, principally for turbine HPT rotor disks. (Small portion of metal in this pic.)

BREAKING: FAA officially announced the rulemaking to legalize supersonic flight, including the Boomless Cruise ("Mach cutoff") approach we demonstrated on XB-1. This is a major step toward the supersonic renaissance.

The Symphony high pressure turbine rotor is fully assembled, as are compressor stages 1/2. Current hold-up is a late supplier building the Stage 3 blisk. This is why we're vertically integrating—legacy suppliers don't move at Boom speed. Next engine will have Boom-made blisks.
