🚨 BREAKING: BMW Group and @Figure_robot just took their partnership to the next level. Figure 03 is now live at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg. Figure 02 ran for 11 months at Spartanburg, supporting the production of more than 30,000 BMW X3 vehicles. Inserting sheet-metal parts for welding: high speed, high accuracy, physically demanding. In a real factory. Every day. Now Figure 03 is tackling something harder: complex sequencing in logistics: → Components arrive unsorted in large containers → Figure 03 picks and sorts them into sequencing trolleys → Trolleys are transported to collection points → Parts delivered to assembly workers just-in-sequence This use case is everywhere in automotive manufacturing. Figure 03 also ships with meaningful hardware upgrades over its predecessor like improved hands with tactile sensors and palm cameras, wireless charging for higher availability, soft components for enhanced safety, and speech-to-speech audio communication. BMW is building an entirely new Center of Competence for Physical AI in Production and rolling out humanoids in Germany for the first time too. 🇩🇪 Congrats @adcock_brett! Today I found out there is a 12 year old Belgian company focuses on just one thing - Pick and Place for high mix tasks VLA demos are a decade late for the same capability. What am I missing?

The story of American System Integrators landscape is a fractured, geographically constrained, highly specialized or templatized. The reason is the economics Even with new capability unlock, does the economics for physical AI SI work unless at a massive scale?

The amount of people reselling Anvils OpenArm incl. myself is so high cuz this piece of toy is not reliable or great prod experience. Just keeps getting sent to the next robotics enthusiast who didn’t realize this was a bad purchase.
Selling an OpenArm in the SF Bay Area. DM if interested!

I think that the next-generation of systems integrators is going to be doing this kind of task all the time soon.

Simulation building is one the hardest task for current coding agents. Failing here is the biggest bottleneck for Physical AI safety and reliability.

🧵 1/12 June 2027. The biggest AI labs have quietly stopped bragging about parameter counts. Instead, a handful of them are now running the same 20-watt blueprint that evolution already perfected: real biological neurons, simulated at scale, on ordinary GPUs. Sci-fi you think? It’s already happening. And at Neuropeek @HiSohan just made it practical. We are about to own the layer everything else sits on.
Imagine a Purkinje cell firing. Not as a dot on a graph. As a tree of light, branches illuminating from trunk to tip in 0.3 milliseconds. Now imagine five different neuron types doing this simultaneously, talking to each other through synapses that pulse when they transmit. That's what your brain just did to picture this.
