Wanted to chime in on this. I cover normal games from time to time because it’s what I want to do. I believe it’s important to keep the YOU in YouTube. Normally it’s a bad decision in terms of views, but there have also been plenty of times my flat screen reviews have outperformed or at least performed the same as real vr games on my channel. My issue is I can’t get access to the bigger flat screen games pre-launch so I really don’t know how my flat screen reviews would perform realistically against the guys who get access early. Time will tell. For me, YouTube is my outlet. Virtual Reality is what made me upload in the first place, not because I wanted to be a YouTuber, I just wanted an outlet for people who are like minded. Bottom line is if all vr has to offer me is games I’m not interested in, it means I don’t want to play them myself anyway. So I go with my heart.
You know the VR scene is struggling when more and more VR YouTubers are covering flat games just to stay afloat. Tough times out there.

Well there’s an unexpected positive
Sony is converting their discs factory into one that produces Micro-lenses Which are used on Micro-OLED displays inside of XR headsets, as an example.. Ok, Sony. Didn’t realize your game. Carry on πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

I’ve been replaying lots of PSVR2 games recently and damn this system kicks ass. Can’t believe it’s over 3 years old already.

There’s not a lot going on in July… well officially, but there’s some cool stuff happening and I think I’ve covered most of it in today’s videoπŸ‘‰youtu.be/kvN8Z8N5F48?is=GN-O…

Shuhei dropping Steam Machine review 🀝
Thoughts after a few hours of playing with Steam Machine. - 3D performance is just…meh. - The system recommends to default to 1080p - am I going back to PS4 days? - Some games take a looooooong time to boot, what is it doing? - System UI is easy to use. - Being able to boot up by pressing a button on Steam Controller is a killer feature. - Changeable face plate is nice. - Random boot up videos is a nice touch :) - Sticks on Steam Controller is a bit looser than my taste. - Having touch pad is nice, but it is very β€œtouchy” and hard to use. - It allows me to play Steam games on my living room TV, which is a reason enough to keep it. - But the price was very unfriendly. Hard to recommend to people unless for research.

Super cool game youtu.be/CUWYKv2qez8?is=Z26r…
VMX is @Meta's most wish listed game right now! We are so grateful to the VR players out there looking forward to our upcoming quest release. There are some big names on the list and it means a lot to us that players want to get into our game #vrgames

So much to do today. 5am start. 4 mile walk with doggo. Gym sesh. Two videos to prep before the weekend, double play-testing reports to hand in, and today marks my 50th paid play-test report. I’ve worked with many developers over the last few years and they keep coming back with new projects which I’m forever grateful for. Hope everyone’s day goes well. Oh and I’ve lost 4kg of fat in 4 weeksπŸ’ͺ

New M3 headstrap from @bobovr_official feels more stable with front & back adjustments. Once in place, it doesn’t move adding more stability. The new B60 battery is smaller, lighter & charges to 80% in 20min, but has less capacity. Unfortunately the B100 S3 batteries won’t work with M3. PlayStation will stop producing discs January 2028, moving to digital only. I know as VR gamers physical wasn’t really a thing outside of collectors editions on PSVR by Limited Games and Perp Games, but as someone who started gaming in the 80s we are truly looking at the official end of having physical game collections. blog.playstation.com/2026/07…

I hate that we’re at point where vr mods are actually better than games with vr modes but it is what it is, and what this is, is amazingπŸ‘‰youtu.be/moRn6KkU9a0?is=vYFK…

Good bye Companion Cube! The reddit post is about how dbrand poured massive effort into the product as a passion project, only to get shut down for using Valve’s IP without permission. They’re taking full responsibility and handling refunds. reddit.com/r/dbrand/s/DtLXAP…

Just played Lanesplit in VR on Steam and my god this is super shit. The cars move about 15mph to give you a false sense of speed and the VR visuals are atrocious. It’s like being punched and then having vaseline smeared over each eye and that’s regardless of the settings you choose. No touch controls only gamepad and it’s INSANELY boring. The trailer is good though. Verdict: Avoid.
