📢 A new way to welcome starts now. On July 4 at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, as new Americans took the Oath of Allegiance, Welcome.US launched its Citizen Guide program: a volunteer initiative supporting aspiring Americans during their final steps to U.S. citizenship. Becoming a citizen takes years of commitment, paperwork, preparation, vetting, and perseverance. As a Citizen Guide, you can mentor and encourage someone during the final stretch—helping them practice English, prepare for the civics test, and build confidence for their citizenship interview. A fair shot is a far shot when you’re on your own. On the long, difficult road to citizenship, one person can make all the difference. 👉 Calling all Welcomers. Become a Citizen Guide today: welcome.us/citizenship

"Today, we celebrate those who have chosen America, and we celebrate a country worthy of their commitment." — Welcome.US CEO Nazanin Ash On America's 250th birthday, we had the honor of celebrating 75 new Americans representing 35 countries as they took the Oath of Allegiance at Thomas Jefferson's Monticello. ✨After years of hard work, perseverance, and commitment, they earned this moment. ✨ From the stage at Monticello, as we celebrated our nation's newest citizens, we also launched the Welcome.US Citizen Guide program—inviting Americans to help aspiring citizens prepare for the final steps on their journey to U.S. citizenship. Whether it's practicing civics questions, conversational English, or preparing for a citizenship interview, one caring Welcomer can make all the difference. On this historic Independence Day, we celebrate America's newest citizens. Now you can help someone else reach this same milestone. Learn more and become a Citizen Guide: welcome.us/citizenship 🇺🇸

Helping an aspiring American become a citizen might sound like a big commitment. The reality for Susie was simply a few hour-long video calls and a stack of flashcards.🇺🇸✨ Every week, Susie logged on and helped Lolav study for a very important exam: flashcards, practice questions, the hundred small facts that stand between a newcomer and citizenship. They never met in person. But what Lolav remembers most is not the facts. It is that someone showed up,week after week, and reminded her she was not doing this alone. Lolav came to Nashville from the Kurdish region of Iraq in 2022, rebuilding a life that had been upended years earlier. She set her sights on becoming American and started studying for the exam. Susie, a longtime volunteer two time zones away, became the person in her corner. This past March, Lolav passed the U.S. citizenship exam and became a new American. Someone is studying right now, hoping for the same outcome. You can be the person who shows up, from wherever you are. You have the opportunity to make a life-changing impact. 🔗 welcome.us/citizenship

The court struck down the administration’s executive order from January 2025 to limit birthright citizenship for certain individuals. In the newest addition to our Beyond The Headlines series, we’re digging into: - What this ruling means - Who the executive order would have affected - How birthright citizenship has shaped America Read welcome.us/learn/birthright-… #BeAWelcomer #BeyondTheHeadlines #BirthrightCitizenship #TrumpVBarbara

Becoming a U.S. citizen is one of the most significant milestones in an aspiring American’s journey, yet out of 8.7 million eligible green card holders, fewer than 1 in 10 apply each year due to cost, complexity, or lack of support. You can change that, starting in your own neighborhood. By hosting a Welcome Table gathering, you can build bridges, foster understanding, and drive community action. On July 5, we’re teaming up with America's Potluck and states across the country to help you share food and stories that connect us all. 👉 Access our step-by-step guide, discussion questions, and promotional toolkit. 🔗 welcome.us/learn/welcome-tab… #BeAWelcomer #Belonging #CommunityOrganizing #AmericasPotluck
