The Centre has signalled that India could move towards a dedicated legal framework for artificial intelligence, with @GoI_MeitY indicating that the time may be ripe to draft standalone AI regulations. Speaking on Friday, MeitY Secretary S Krishnan said the government is preparing to begin work on a draft regulatory framework for AI, even as it continues to rely on existing legal provisions to address immediate concerns surrounding the technology.
