Simon Willison shipping sqlite-utils 4.0 mostly written by Claude Fable for ~$149 is a watershed moment. Not for the tool, but for what it signals about LLM coding agents. When a respected open source maintainer trusts an AI to handle architectural decisions, refactoring, and test suites, the conversation shifts from "can LLMs code?" to "what's the developer's actual role now?" The real question: as these agents get better and cheaper, how do teams stay in the loop on what the model is deciding? @AnthropicAI #AIGovernance #OpenSource #LLM

Advancing digital transformation requires resilience, determination, and strong partnerships. Pleased to reconnect with H.E. Dr. Abdel Razzaq Natsheh, Palestine's Minister of Telecommunications & Digital Economy, who continues to advance an ambitious vision for #Palestine's digital future through digital government, stronger digital infrastructure and cybersecurity, and next-generation connectivity. We reaffirmed the @dcorg's support for Palestine's digital transformation and expressed our appreciation for His Excellency's valuable contribution to the DCO's 5th General Assembly in Kuwait, which continues to strengthen our growing partnership. Palestine's resilience and determination continue to inspire us. We look forward to deepening our cooperation as we advance #DigitalProsperity4All. #AIDialogue #AIGovernance

I chose proxy architecture first because I needed to answer one brutal question: 'can we see what data actually flows through LLM calls without storing raw content?' Most AI gateway founders start with routing. I started with visibility. A proxy sitting between your app and the API provider can fingerprint every request with SHA-256, redact PII before it leaves your network, and log only the metadata. No raw content stored. Ever. So I built that first. The routing optimization, the budget caps, the agent loop detection—those came after. But the core insight stayed: 'visibility without data residency'. That's why we open-sourced the proxy under Apache 2.0. Teams should be able to audit exactly how their data is handled. Not trust us. Verify us. 387 models across 10 families, 7 providers, all routable through one proxy. But the real win? A support team that deploys Claude knows their customer data isn't sitting in logs somewhere. That's worth more than smart routing. github.com/aisecuritygateway… #BuildInPublic #OpenSource #AIGovernance

AI Is Moving Faster Than Most Governance Programs. Organizations are racing to adopt AI, but many haven't established the security and compliance foundations needed to manage it responsibly. On this episode of DailyCyber, Justin Beals shares how AI research, semantic mapping, and compliance automation can help organizations scale security without multiplying administrative overhead. Key discussion points: • AI's impact on governance and compliance • Why framework mapping matters • Security maturity before AI deployment • Reducing manual compliance work through automation Security leaders planning long-term AI adoption won't want to miss this discussion. Mistral's funding and "frontier AI for everyone" mission raises a real question: what does "democratized" actually mean when you need enterprise infrastructure to run it safely? Open source models are great. But most teams deploying them still need visibility into what data flows through their calls, cost controls, and compliance logging. The models democratized, the governance stack didn't. @MistralAI #AIGovernance #OpenSource #GenAI

AI agents achieve much higher performance when given additional compute budgets. Standard benchmarks with fixed token limits systematically underestimate what these systems can actually accomplish according to the UK's AI Security Institute. AISI tested frontier models across cybersecurity, software engineering and academic tasks. Success rates increased by up to 25 percent with higher compute. Newer models benefit disproportionately as they solve harder problems more reliably and efficiently. This compute scaling reveals a key reality. Agent capabilities follow a curve rather than a single score. Fixed budget evaluations miss the full picture and lead to flawed risk assessments for production use. Enterprises deploying agentic systems must account for test-time compute in their evaluations. Security and governance frameworks need to test across realistic budgets to avoid underestimating exposure in areas like cyber operations and complex workflows. Better measurement drives better decisions. Organizations that adopt compute-aware evaluations will build more accurate roadmaps for safe and effective agent deployment at scale. AI agents now complete 16 percent of freelance jobs at professional quality. This marks a sharp rise from just 2.5 percent eight months ago according to the Remote Labor Index. The benchmark evaluates real paid projects across design, 3D modeling, video production, data analysis and web development. Top performers like Fable 5 demonstrate meaningful progress in agent capabilities. This acceleration signals faster displacement in knowledge work. Freelancers face immediate pressure while enterprises gain new options for scaling operations through autonomous agents. Enterprises must prepare for this shift. Agentic systems deliver productivity gains but require robust governance frameworks to manage quality, security and compliance at scale. The rapid improvement demands updated talent strategies and production readiness patterns. Organizations that integrate these agents thoughtfully will capture the upside while minimizing execution risks. Traceability is not admissibility. A trace can show what happened. But it does not prove the action was allowed to bind. For AI systems that can act, audit is not enough. The permission question has to move earlier: before the tool call, before the workflow transition, before the external effect, before consequence. #AgenticAI #AIGovernance #EnterpriseAI #GovernedExecution #AIInfrastructure

Gov. Abbott tells data center developers to BYOR to Texas: Last week, the @TexasTribune published an excellent column by Texas Governor @GregAbbott_TX outlining a broad regulatory framework for data centers amid concerns from rural communities about their impact on residential neighborhoods, which should serve as code to developers to “bring your own resources” (BYOR). The #TexasTribune column quoted Gov. Abbott as saying, “I made clear already: Any AI data center even thinking about coming here — they got to bring their own money, bring their own power, reuse their own water and do it in a way that reduces the cost of electricity for residents across our state,” he said. “We must eliminate the tax break they are getting. They must be responsible for funding their own projects here in Texas. We will get that done.” Multiple interconnected issues have led communities to mount resistance to data centers moving near their neighborhoods. The growing demand for data centers across the country, mostly in rural areas, is driven by #AI and #cloud computing, which are fueling their expansion and requiring significant #energy storage, #water resources, and land, among others. On June 17, AI Now Sphere released a one-stop shop column on #DataCenter knowledge, covering their purpose, values, environmental footprint, and the pros and cons of their development, which is linked in the comments section below.
