The penalties for soccer (red cards, penalty kicks) are too extreme for if you’re going to slow down every play and look for fouls with a microscope

In the 2022 World Cup there were 4 red cards total (only one straight red). In the 2018 World Cup there were 4 red cards total (only two straight reds). There have already been 12 red cards in the 2026 World Cup. All 12 have been straight reds.

I don’t care if it’s Fourth of July weekend. It is impossible for a USMNT fan to cheer for Mexico.

Yes it is a little fishy that the biggest stars of the biggest countries have their bans deferred to after the World Cup, but it’s not accurate to say it only happens to the US
I’m sorry but is this not blatant corruption by FIFA? There’s absolutely no premise for them to suspend a red card ban, especially in the knockout rounds, I’d be absolutely raging if I was Belgium…

I thought it was a very weak red card but I also don’t understand how Balogun is back. Who cares. 🇺🇸 USA! 🇺🇸

Continental Congress HAS SIGNED A DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE!  The UNITED STATES are OFFICIALLY INDEPENDENT from BRITAIN. LIBERTY BELLS ring out throughout Philadelphia; the streets ERUPT IN ECSTASY.

“Why don’t they just get rid of offside in soccer?” Because it completely ruins the game. People have thought about that and experimented with it before. You can make it work on tiny fields but on a big field it just becomes endless cherry-picking.

Khanna is too stupid/evil to realize that this would basically force liquidate any startup in the state that raises a Series B or beyond. Just kill the golden goose straight up.

It took about one week for Khanna to get bullied into suggesting his “billionaire tax” should actually be on anyone worth $50 million
I make the philosophical case for tax fairness and taxing billionaire wealth. I welcome an argument on the merits for this new social contract. Read here: open.substack.com/pub/rokhan…

The government simultaneously regulating these tech companies while getting stakes in some of them sets off a precedent I really, really don't like
