Trump is willing to fight to reverse Balogun's red card suspension but wants to strip Americans like him, born to immigrant parents on visas, of birthright citizenship. It should now be obvious even to MAGA that Balogun is Team America.

You hold up charisma as the type of virtu Machiavelli extolled for maintaining power. Perhaps the virtue we need is governance pursuing a rational understanding of truth and justice. What you deem as an insult is perhaps a needed correction to the Trump years. Happy 4th!
This man is a empty and fraudulent striver, who willing to do or say anything in pursuit of power, and, poetically, totally unaware of the fact that his deepest personality is a charisma sinkhole, and that no matter how hard he panders it will never happen.

I am extremely proud to be an American. Our founders would be amazed at our accomplishments on our 250th birthday. We need a new economic patriotism to continue to make progress and be a light to the world. Happy 4th!

What a pleasure to host @RoKhanna on The Debrief. A rare chance to spend 30 minutes in candid conversation on US politics & Israel-Palestine w/ a likely 2028 presidential contender. Clarity & conviction. No word salads. Must-watch podcast: drshushan.substack.com/p/ro-… Subscribe.
I was asked what US policy towards Israel should be when Democrats win. I talked about moral leadership that so many in the next generation crave.

A thoughtful argument other than the disdain and bigotry for Native Americans whose union of tribes actually influenced Franklin's own push for our union!
Harold Meyerson flags that founding father Benjamin Franklin made a persuasive argument for the wealth tax, in a letter to Robert Morris, then the richest man in America and the financier of the revolution. His basic argument: Public laws and society made you rich, so the public can decide what to do with the wealth we all collectively built. If you don't like that, he says, then leave society and go live with "the Savages." (Of course, the indigenous people of the time would not have allowed such greed in their societies, either.) Happy early 4th!

Criticism like this is why it is so important to pair a wealth tax with a simultaneous huge tax cut for everybody making less than $100k. Otherwise the super rich will trick everyone into thinking it's gonna hit them too. Also: life is hard out there, cutting taxes for everyone under $100k is the right thing to do.
We're already here. Billionaire tax became $50m tax in 3 weeks. Soon it will be anyone with $1m in home equity. Why? Because you MUST tax the middle class to raise any real amount of money to cover the spending Ro and others want to spend. It's always a middle class tax.

Progressives are winning because we have candidates willing to speak truth to power about Epstein, the billionaire class, the genocide in Gaza, taxing billionaires, and putting workers over AI.

I was asked whether the Senate could filibuster to block 224. I said Schumer was more likely to lead a filibuster to keep it! That's one reason he needs to step aside after over 50 years of political life.

"'Much of the strength...of any Government in...securing happiness to the people, depends, on opinion, on the general opinion of the goodness of the Government, as well as the wisdom and integrity of its Governors." Franklin, September 17, 1787 As we approach our 250th Anniversary, our challenge is to show Americans that our government can and must be a force of good.

Rep. Ro Khanna: "This should be the central issue before Todd Blanche's confirmation hearing. Every senator should ask, are you going to comply with the federal judicial order? Are you going to release the remaining Epstein files, and are you going to bring investigations?"
