All eyes on Earth 👀 Airbus is making a further contribution to the world’s largest environmental programme, Europe’s @CopernicusEU. 🌍 We just completed testing of the second Copernicus Sentinel-4 air quality monitoring optical instrument, which will continuously monitor the atmosphere above Europe to track pollutants and gases. Why does this matter? Understanding what is in our atmosphere helps us better manage the risks of natural threats like desert dust, volcanic ash, and even pollen. 🔎 This data will enable scientists, environmental agencies and policymakers to study the composition of the air that European citizens breathe, and adapt European public health policies. What matters in Space matters on Earth, and Earth observation satellites are a vital tool to monitor the effects of climate change on natural ecosystems. In fact more than 50% of climate variables can only be measured from Space. That is what the Copernicus programme is all about: providing the insights we need to understand climate and guide efforts on the ground to face environmental challenges.🌿 The Copernicus programme is a joint initiative between the European Union (EU) and the European Space Agency (@ESA).

Airbus satellites capture the tower that crowned Gaudí’s masterpiece 📸 🏰✨ After 144 years of construction, one of the world's most extraordinary architectural masterpieces is now complete. Barcelona's Sagrada Familia has been shaped by Antoni Gaudi's vision for more than a century. Inspired by nature, geometry and faith, his design transformed the basilica into one of the world's most iconic landmarks. On 10 June 2026, the Tower of Jesus Christ was inaugurated. Rising 172.5 metres above the city and crowned by a monumental cross, it completes the basilica’s highest architectural element and makes Sagrada Família the tallest church in the world. This image was acquired by the Pléiades Neo constellation at 30cm resolution and enhanced using HD15 processing. Designed to improve the visual rendering of Pléiades Neo imagery, HD15 brightens colours and sharpens details, enabling easier interpretation of the basilica’s intricate architecture and its urban surroundings. ✨ Explore the full-resolution imagery in our Image Gallery ➡️ ow.ly/1cPY50ZfilS

Shaping the Future of Space Connectivity 🚀 As global data demands skyrocket, traditional radio frequencies face critical capacity limits. Airbus is leading Europe’s optical communications revolution to bridge this gap. We are building the infrastructure for next-generation, ultra-high-capacity, and secure space networks. Innovations like our TELEO GEO to Ground laser communication system, the UltraAir demo, and our pioneering work on optical links with the LaserPort Optical Ground Station make this possible. Laser communication is no longer a technology of the future, it is happening now! 🛰️📡🔒 Our #TeamAirbus will be on the ground at @ESA's #ScyLight2026 Conference to discuss how we are transforming secure data transmission across the space domain. Artemis III gets its wings! ✅The four solar arrays have just been attached to the third European Service Module (ESM), the Airbus-built part of the Orion spacecraft. With its four solar wings, the ESM will power Orion during its journey through space. What’s next? The acoustic test, which measures the spacecraft's noise levels to ensure it is safe for the astronaut crew. This latest step is all part of the third Orion spacecraft getting ready for its launch to test docking manoeuvres in low-Earth orbit in 2027. 🚀

22 years ago we designed a new satellite platform the Eurostar 3000, our best seller for over a decade with 54 satellites still in orbit and operating for 18 customers. The usual life time is 15 years… The first of these satellites has now being deorbited, having served our customer @EutelsatGroup. Imagine a car built for 250,000 km that just kept cruising until 350,000 km without a single breakdown. That's the level of #TeamAirbus reliability we're talking about. While this satellite starts its well-earned retirement in 'graveyard orbit', its legacy lives on in the dozens of Eurostar 3000 siblings still powering your data, TV, and connectivity across the globe today. 🌍📡 22 years of service. More than 2 billion kilometres travelled. One incredible record.

For many people around the world, coffee is a part of daily life. ☕ However, if left unchecked, the cultivation of this stimulant can have devastating consequences for the forests around the equator and requires close monitoring. Airbus has joined an initiative of large coffee producers, which, with our help, is using satellite imagery and AI analysis to create the world’s first publicly accessible map of coffee cultivation. The Coffee Canopy Partnership brings together world’s main coffee traders. By sharing geospatial data, Canopy provides them with the information they need to prevent deforestation – thereby also boosting farmers’ resilience through better support. Seeing double! There are now two Land Surface Temperature Monitoring (LSTM) satellites in our cleanroom in Getafe 🇪🇸! While the first satellite’s platform is nearly complete and undergoing tests, our teams are starting to work on its twin. The satellites’ mission is to monitor the Earth's surface temperature by providing both high-resolution thermal infrared images and field temperature data at a 50-metre scale. LSTM is part of the Copernicus Expansion missions developed by the European Space Agency @esa on behalf of the European Commission @EU_Commission. Airbus is leading a consortium of 81 companies from 21 countries to deliver these climate monitoring satellites. Launch is planned at the end of this decade.
