LLMs were predicted to be making new, novel discoveries and inventions by now.
Since we are now at Fable-class models, has this actually happened?
What are the best examples (which I may be unaware of) where LLM agents have discovered or developed truly new ideas or solutions?
This was taped a week before the world agreed that it was important to define the term "jailbreak"
(Have we figured out what "jailbreak" means yet btw?)
Dylan Field @zoink: AI jailbreaking is understudied, and the government is watching.
On the day of this recording, Field flagged a live US government discussion with Anthropic over a model jailbreak. His take, to Molly O'Shea @MollySOShea: the industry's posture is too weak.
He wants HackerOne-style public bounty programs with real incentive to break models, not just lab-run red teams - and an agreed definition of "jailbreak" before regulation can bite.
Dario Amodei @darioamodei has made safety and red-teaming central to Anthropic's pitch, which is exactly why this government attention matters.
If you hold AI-lab exposure - Anthropic in particular - track jailbreaking regulation as a real risk input, not background noise.

Good news for designers/creatives!!
The UK has officially expanded its Global Talent Visa with a dedicated pathway for the design industry.
If you're a graphic designer, UX/UI designer, product designer, brand designer, industrial designer or work in any eligible design field, you may now have a clearer route to live and work in the UK without needing employer sponsorship.
For designers looking to take their careers global, this is a major opportunity.

I’m so excited to share this update on @Conception –
We’ve generated the first early human eggs derived from stem cells.
This is a big deal -- the potential to redefine fertility is real.
CONFIG: Dylan Field (aka @zoink), Founder & CEO of @Figma says: "You have to actually think."
"There's a world where a lot of people are letting AI think for them... & they're tricking themselves into believing they're thinking, themselves."
"Especially when the AI is sycophantic & it's telling you you're so great, & you're such a genius, but then giving you what it wants to do.. that's no longer your idea. That's no longer your intention."
"Use AI as a tool to learn, a tool to understand the world better, a tool for leverage to get the non-critical stuff done faster."

Idk, call it "Figma Motion" or something. I'd definitely pay for this. @zoink@joshclemm c'mon.
Same layers, groups, components and canvas.
Just add:
A timeline
keyframes
speed ramps
video & audio layers
MP4 export
I already know Figma.
I just wanna animate my designs.
