Today, we're launching Season 0 of our membership. Our mission is to unite and nurture the next generation of DaVincis through building Libraries of the Future in every city. What are libraries of the future? How can we empower the misfits of our generation?👇

nyc-specific bonus: nycedc founder fellowship exists, but treat it as access to capital, operators, mentors, and network, not guaranteed free money. nyc funds finder / sbs is similar: not a grant, but a free way to find grants and loans you’d never manually track.

your first $200k doesn't have to come from a deck and a pitch meeting. sometimes it's already sitting there waiting for an application.

your startup blows up and nobody ever finds out you built it. and you can't build another one. $10,000,000. could you do it?

nobody finishes the thing by getting more disciplined. what actually works: - tell one person a deadline (put money on it that you will get it done) - show the ugly version before it feels ready - stop researching how everyone else did it - pick the realistic version with small wins along the way

You're citibiking in NYC, sweating bullets, you get to your dock, and it's full. So now you have to pull out your phone (like a chump) and find the next open dock. Got tired of this, so here's an app I made for the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses 😎

the most overrated piece of startup advice right now is "talk to 100 customers before you build anything" most people use it as a way to delay building, not a way to learn faster. ten real conversations and a rough version people can actually react to beats a hundred conversations about a thing that doesn't exist yet

step 3: help someone with zero expectation of getting anything back. do this at least twice before you ever ask for something. most people skip straight to the ask. the ones who get warm intros consistently are the ones who've already been useful before they needed anything.

warm intros aren't a favor you collect. they're a byproduct of being a known, trusted quantity in a room. build the reputation first. the intros show up on their own.
