The problem with America (and Brazil too) is that they're such big countries with such widely different living standards and safety levels per region, city and even neighborhood So it's really hard for Europeans to be able to grasp that once you're in the good parts of America it's generally a much higher living standard than Europe While the bad parts are of course much worse Europe has a much narrower range of good and bad where mostly everything is kinda in the middle, not great, not terrible
🚨#BREAKING: A German soccer fan who flew to the USA but was fearful about coming because of news about criminals and people being mean... ...breaks down into TEARS, live on air saying he has FALLEN IN LOVE with America after a random man named "Bob" in Boston gave him a ride home after he was stuck at a game with no way back to his hotel The German soccer fan's name is Sebastian, he said after meeting Bob, he extended his entire trip. He said leaving America will hurt worse than watching Germany get knocked out of the World Cup. "I fall in love with America. I'm sorry, it's just so emotional. Americans are not rude... if we are together, we can achieve great things." THIS IS THE AMERICA I KNOW!!!!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Both my parents immigrated to America. They both learned the language, studied, and worked hard to give me a better life. They succeeded. When you see a someone insulting the US, remind them to try anywhere else. We live in the undefeated land of opportunity. Happy July 4th.

To the Americans: I've travelled all over the world. I've familiarized myself with many places, and met many people. And I'm a Canadian, although I’m privileged to reside once again in the States. And here's something I've noticed, and it’s a key element of America's continuing greatness: You bloody Americans value success, and you believe in its existence. This is something that doesn't really happen anywhere else in the world. Even in other free democracies—the United Kingdom; Finland, Sweden, and Norway; Australia, New Zealand and Canada; Germany, France, and the Netherlands (great countries all)—a counterproductive cynicism too often reigns. Success is equated with exploitation. Ambition is looked upon with contempt. This happens sometimes in the United States too—particularly among the miserable progressives, who confuse their resentment, ingratitude and unearned skepticism with wisdom. But in your great country, by and large, striving is admired and success celebrated. This means that more people strive and succeed in the US than anywhere else. And it's increasingly obvious. You remain stunningly more innovative and productive than any people anywhere else on the planet. And so I say, as all should who are fortunate enough to live in the western world, let alone America: Thank God for the United States. Thank God for the wisdom of its founders. Thank God for its faith in the free market and in the natural rights of man. Happy birthday, you damn Yankees and Southerners. Long may your admirable country dominate the world. Long may your freedom and hope provide an example to those suffering everywhere at the hands of their malevolent states. May your two and a half centuries of unparallelled success be just the beginning. Your country is the light of the world, and the city on the hill. Thank God for the USA. Happy 250th. Dr. Jordan B. Peterson

Yea this sounds wild
Rich Paul on LeBron James to the Knicks 😳 “If the Knicks hadn’t won, there would be no board. He’d be going to the Knicks…. Jalen Brunson would literally have to pick up the phone and say ‘hey man, there’s no issue with me.’ They (Knicks) have checked in.” (Via Game Over)

Three years ago, two Harvard dropouts set out to build a better AI chip than the largest companies in the world. Almost everyone I called at the time said it was impossible. Today, Etched (@Etched) comes out of stealth with $800M total raised, $1B in signed customer contracts, and a working next-gen AI chip. This was my excuse to ask the two founders, @UbertiGavin and @robertwachen, every question I have about compute and inference. We discuss: - Why they built an entire rack and not just a chip - The two technical bets behind their architecture no one else has tried - How two founders in their twenties recruited industry legends - The night they nearly ran out of money - Why whoever produces the most tokens wins If you care about the future of compute, Gavin and Rob are two people to know. I think you will find the story of what they have built hard to forget. Enjoy! See, this is a problem with the brand culture. The Lakers have won the most championships even before LeBron got there. It's in one of the biggest cities in the world and has always had superstars. Not to mention they already have another superstar active right now in Luka. Way too many LeBron fans truly believe the world revolves around them. They act as if basketball only started existing when they became fans of LeBron, as if when LeBron retires, then basketball will no longer exist. That's just not reality.
Lakers really lost 50% of their fanbase with LeBron gone I’m crying son
