“all argentinians are racist” “even their kids ” “they are all white” “they should all die” about a south american country that happens to have natural resources. this is how propaganda starts. they find an excuse to create hate around you so when they invade you no one cares.

Susan Sontag was an obsessive list-maker, and her diaries in As Consciousness Is Harnessed to Flesh contain vast registers of books to read, words to memorize, and films to watch. Here are the 50 films (not in order) Susan Sontag championed as the pinnacle of cinema.

Before there was disc rot, there was...
Before streaming, I was a big DVD collector. I bought nearly a thousand movies. I thought I was building a library. And I will tell you a secret: DVDs rot. The glue that holds the layers together can become opaque so the laser doesn’t read the disc properly or it can simply degrade so the disc falls apart or it can warp or expand so the disc won’t spin properly in the drive. So, in addition to needing to keep antique hardware with delicate moving parts in working order to play these games or watch these movies, the media itself is degrading. Yeah, your purchased digital movie might get deleted from the network over rights issues at some point in the future or the service that provides it might shut down. But if you buy a BluRay and put it on a shelf for five years and then decide to watch it, there is a decent chance it won’t work. I love a beautiful Criterion movie box set or a game with cool box art and a manual as much as the next guy, but people overly romanticize physical media. The universe is governed by entropy and everything is falling apart.

Someone send this to Scorsese pls
Weird Al Yankovic pulled out of a commercial on which he was making a "nice pile of money" after discovering it was for AI. “I’m not going to mention any names, but they told me it was for a business. It was business software that would increase productivity. I said, ‘Oh well, yeah, sure, I could do that.’ And then a week before we’re supposed to shoot it, I find out this is AI. And I thought, ‘Oh no, I can’t be the poster boy for AI, forget it.’ So I felt bad about kind of pulling out at the last minute. But yeah, I’m not down with that.” variety.com/2026/biz/news/we…

First, thank you to everyone who supports @eyeonaxis and shares the love for photography. It’s thanks to you that this page has come this far! I’m dealing with a bad situation right now. An account (@aseelswaid9) has been using X’s advanced search to find my highest-performing posts and reposting them in large numbers, often within just a few minutes. In recent days, this account has reposted more than 100 of my posts in quick waves, and he has done the same with other curation accounts. While I don’t own the original photographs, I spend real time and effort selecting images, researching context and authorship, writing captions, and presenting the photos. Seeing months of that curatorial work copied so quickly, in a couple of minutes, feels very unfair. He has since blocked me, so I can no longer reply to his posts. If you value the effort that goes into photography curation on X, please support accounts that create their own selections, and avoid those that simply copy the curatorial work of others like @aseelswaid9. It’s discouraging to see that X’s algorithm rewards that kind of behavior.

Looks like Spain's Filmin will be the first streamer to have the new 4K restorations of the entire Angelopoulos' filmography. Hopefully the rest of the world will follow but this is huge already.
