Celebrating 30 years of
@SoccerSix and what an unforgettable way to do it! ⚽️🥅🎸
If you’d told me a few months ago that I’d be pulling on a football shirt and playing my very first football match in a women’s team during a heatwave, I would never have believed you.
Yet I stepped onto the pitch, embraced the nerves, laughed at my mistakes, celebrated every little win, and made memories that I’ll treasure forever alongside the most incredible team mates.
Living with hypermobility means that I have to be mindful of my body and pace my energy carefully. Some days I can do more than others, and I’ve learned that being active doesn’t always mean pushing through pain, but listening to my body while continuing to challenge myself in ways that bring me joy.
I’ve always believed that movement is something to celebrate, whatever that looks like for you. You don’t have to be the best at a sport to play. You don’t need years of experience in order to be worthy. You just need the courage to say yes and to take the first step.
This wonderful charity event has reminded me that life is about trying new things, following your dreams, meeting incredible people, and saying yes to opportunities that scare and excite you in equal measure. You never know where one decision might lead in life, and just what you may learn and thrive from.
I’m so grateful to have been part of such a special event, celebrating 30 amazing years of Soccer Six while supporting fantastic charitable causes through the power of sport. Thank you to everyone who made the day so welcoming and inspiring.
So here’s your reminder: book the class, join the team, enter the race, apply for the opportunity, start the hobby! Whatever you have been dreaming about, please know that you don’t have to be fearless, you simply have to begin.
The best adventures often start with, “I’ve NEVER done this before"❤️⚽️
