@twelve_labs just raised $100M to do the opposite: make sense of the video that already exists.

Here's the bet: roughly 90% of the world's data is video, and almost none of it is searchable. Security footage, sports archives, ad libraries, it's all sitting there, unindexed.
TwelveLabs' models (Marengo, Pegasus) turn that raw footage into structured, searchable data instead of trying to generate new clips.
Genuinely curious: is "understanding video" a bigger long-term market than "generating video," or does generation eventually eat this use case too?
