🇺🇸☀️ Kokomo Scanner Forecast: Hot, Humid & Watching Storms Later ⛈️🎆
Happy Independence Day, Kokomo. It's already warm and sticky out there, with temperatures around 81 degrees and a RealFeel near 95 late this morning. A Heat Advisory remains in effect, so the heat and humidity are already making themselves known.
Expect a mix of sun and clouds through the day, with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 80s. Thanks to the humidity, it'll feel closer to 100 degrees during the afternoon.
Storm chances increase as the day goes on. The better window looks to be from about 1 p.m. through the evening, with scattered thunderstorms possible. Not everyone will see rain, but if one rolls through, it could bring heavy downpours, frequent lightning, hail, and damaging wind gusts.
Tonight stays very humid with additional thunderstorms possible. That could cause problems for fireworks plans, especially around the evening hours, so keep an eye on the radar before heading out.
The good news? This should be the last day of the really oppressive heat. It's not going to be cool this weekend—it's July, after all—but it'll be a whole lot easier to be outside than it has been the past several days.
Quick Take:
🌡️ High Today: Upper 80s
🥵 RealFeel: Near 100°
⚠️ Heat Advisory in effect
⛈️ Storm Window: Afternoon through evening
💨 Main threats: Heavy rain, lightning, hail, and damaging wind gusts
🎆 Kokomo fireworks: 9:30 p.m. at Kokomo Municipal Stadium — weather permitting
Have a safe and happy Fourth of July! Drink plenty of water, check on those spending time outdoors, and enjoy the holiday.
