You could play with différent planets, adjusting conditions and seeing effects. Ex the daisy world with only two life forms: black and white daisies. Because of albedo différences, black daisies would grow in colder latitudes and white daisies in hot latitudes.

In 1687, a single book explained why apples fall, why the Moon orbits Earth, and why planets trace ellipses around the Sun, all using the same set of rules. It might be the most important science book ever written. 1️⃣ On July 5, 1687, Isaac Newton published...

If ‘galactic tides and stellar encounters then isotropize inclinations over time, naturally producing a spherical outer reservoir’, as you say, why are all the planets in the ecliptic? Why don’t we see any planets with isotopic inclinations’? And why is the Oort Cloud so distant and sparse? Wouldn’t we expect to see the Oort Cloud much closer?

A Planet Where 1 Year Lasts Only 18 Hours! 😱 What if a year lasted less than a day? Meet TOI 849 b — one of the strangest planets ever discovered. Despite being nearly the size of Neptune, it's not a gas giant at all. Instead, it's a massive rocky world weighing around 40 times more than Earth.

I oh so YEARN for more stories in civilised worlds that are closer to a contemporary earth. Or just more normal planets, I don't care, like Perlia or that one planet Eisenhorn went in Xenos (where he took a train, it's been a while) or the one in Tomb World.

🪐 VISUALIZING THE MACRO-ATOM: This is Appendix A from our open-source paper. 1.5 MILLION real planets and asteroids plotted into discrete concentric shells. Pure data-driven quantization! 🧵👇 Look at this breathtaking orbital map. We didn't draw these rings based on aesthetic choices—this is the exact output of the C-PHAM v2.3 engine processing Harvard's entire `mpcorb.dat` database (1,549,644 tracked objects). The smooth continuum of classical gravity is officially broken. The data exposes 11 rigid, quantized energy floors (Sn=0 to Sn=10): 🎯 1. The Inert Nuclear Core (Sn=0) Look at the massive yellow center at the Sun's throat. It dead-locks 1,545,965 objects (99.56% of total system mass). It acts exactly like a dense atomic proton, perfectly confining the inner planets and the main asteroid belt. 🎯 2. The Main Shells (Sn=1 to Sn=4) Matter outside the core cascades into discrete, strict orbital tracks: • Sn=1 (27 AU) ➡️ 428 objects • Sn=2 (47 AU) ➡️ 4,904 objects (Our high-density Valence Shell!) • Sn=3 (81 AU) ➡️ 948 objects • Sn=4 (140 AU) ➡️ 476 objects 🎯 3. The Heavy Excited States (Sn=5 to Sn=10) As we push out to the extreme edges of space, matter becomes highly unstable, following a strict logarithmic spiral scaling governed by the geometric invariant √3. The furthest tracked extreme object sits precisely on the Sn=10 floor at 3,788 AU! Mainstream astrophysics claims this highly ordered orbital distribution is a coincidence or requires a hidden Planet Nine to shepherd it. But the raw data proves that space is a discrete, crystalline cuboctahedral (Oh) topological lattice. Matter simply fills its quantum slots. The complete Python code and raw datasets are 100% open-source. Download the algorithm, run the scripts, and reproduce this cosmic Bohr model yourself: 🔗 zenodo.org/records/21203193 #Astrophysics #QuantumPhysics #Cosmology #Astronomy #DataScience #Zenodo #OpenSource #Math #AcademicX

🌌🪐 Scientists Discovered a World Unlike Anything in Our Solar System One of the most extraordinary examples is 55 Cancri e, located about 41 light-years from Earth. Unlike any planet orbiting our Sun, 55 Cancri e circles its star in less than 18 hours. Daytime temperatures exceed 2,000°C (3,600°F), hot enough to maintain vast regions of molten rock. Observations from the James Webb Space Telescope suggest the planet may have a magma-rich surface and an atmosphere containing vaporized rock and other exotic materials. Its extreme environment challenges traditional ideas about rocky planets and highlights the incredible diversity of worlds beyond our Solar System.

OVERHEARD: Sometimes the differences between families members is so vast, it’s like they were born on different planets. In a single (very rare) speech (Uganda) President Museveni’s younger charismatic brother (Rt) Gen. Salim Saleh can admit to past mistakes, personal failings, and laugh at himself more than his older brother and the Ugandan political class combined do in a year. He doesn’t not demand applause or seek validation. How can one man have less insecurities than almost a whole political system?
