Red Rover Interactive has confirmed an undisclosed number of layoffs as part of a company restructuring affecting its Oslo and Newcastle offices. The studio says the changes are intended to create a more sustainable future, while development of its upcoming post-apocalyptic survival shooter Enginefall will continue.

Small Friday scoop - Red Rover Interactive, the developer of upcoming survival shooter Enginefall, is being hit with layoffs. Enginefall, Red Rover's debut game, is set to launch in 2026 and just hosted a demo during Steam Next Fest. Red Rover has bases in Newcastle and Oslo.

My time being partnered with Enginefall came to an end this week, to anyone that watched me stream it for the past 2 years you would have seen how far this game has come in that time & i feel extremely grateful to be chosen to be apart of it all to help build the game. From my content being posted on their socials, to streaming from the red bull sphere to lastly being able to voice over an official trailer at summer games fest last year which was infront of 110k live viewers is one of the coolest things i’ve ever done since i started making content🥹 Thank you to all the people i met through enginefall, it’s been a great time & hoping for a successful launch when that time comes🚂❤️

The demo for Enginefall by our portfolio company Red Rover Interactive became one of the most popular demos of Steam Next Fest June 2026. It cracked the top 1%, ranking 21st out of 4,382 participating demos - landing itself in the excellent company of Onimusha and Valor Mortis!
