Handing the microphone back over to @LauraRuthBarry. Feel free to follow up with me at @sleary if you'd like to chat more about accessibility! #ChatOpenS
I have been sorting out the bugs that don't originate with us, and trying to get those fixed in the original framework wherever possible. Then the question is: do we wait for the upgrade or work around? #ChatOpenS
I'm @sleary, Front End Developer. I'm new(ish) at @EquinoxOLI but have been doing open source things for 20 years; I was previously a WordPress developer & tech writer. My tool of the day is my Passion Planner; it helps with attention when I have too many screens open.

Librarians that do training are well served if they learn some teaching basics like how to create usable learning objectives and how to write a lesson plan. #ChatOpenS GHW
In my experience, training is hard. It doesn't matter which software you use - open or proprietary. Teaching is a skill that most librarians don't learn. A lot of it is based on the idea "I'll just show people how I do it." #ChatOpenS GHW
I've wanted to move us to more open source for the public, but staff are resistant. Microsoft is what they are used to. I'm hoping to get there someday, but unless it is a one to one product, it is a hard hurdle to overcome. CB #ChatOpenS
I agree. We have a lot of that in northeastern Kansas. Especially in the smaller towns. The towns in our consortia range from a population of 150-200 to 40,000. Older people in small towns are often reluctant to learn how to do things themselves. #ChatOpenS GHW
Q4. My stuff is almost exclusively for library staff, usually catalogers or IT staff though sometimes a part of it becomes used for something used with the public or informs it. #ChatOpenS
Our training at Next currently focuses on staff users. We are a work in progress and are moving towards some patron focused content, but we started with a focus on staff training. #ChatOpenS GHW
It definitely depends on what I'm doing. We have dedicated trainers who probably borrow from the docs but the stuff I write up usually isn't in docs though I have a few times been able to borrow from the Koha WIKI. #ChatOpenS
The Koha documentation is a great source to "harvest" from if you're talking about Koha. That's one of the advantages for me using Sphinx - the Koha manual source is also in Sphinx #ChatOpenS GHW
Next does a combination of original content and harvesting from other sources. We try to do our videos live on our system so that when people look at our videos they see what they'll actually see in Koha. #ChatOpenS GHW
