POV: You stop waiting to feel ready and start applying anyway. 🚀 One of the biggest reasons students miss out on opportunities isn't a lack of talent, potential, or ambition. It's self-doubt. It's convincing yourself you're not qualified enough before anyone else has the chance to decide. It's reading the requirements, comparing yourself to others, and quietly talking yourself out of opportunities that could change your future. The truth is, most internships, scholarships, and career opportunities aren't looking for someone who knows everything. They're looking for someone willing to learn, grow, contribute, and show up. Someone willing to take the next step, even when they don't feel 100% confident. Think about how many doors stay closed simply because people never knock. How many applications never get submitted. How many interviews never happen. How many opportunities are lost before the process even begins. 💭 What if you stopped letting self-doubt make decisions for you? What if you sent the application, submitted the resume, attended the networking event, or applied for the internship anyway? Because confidence doesn't always come before action. More often, confidence is built because of action. It's built when you take chances, learn from experiences, and realize you're more capable than you thought. So apply anyway. Send the email anyway. Take the interview anyway. Pursue the opportunity anyway. Future-you may be grateful that you stopped waiting for permission and started betting on yourself. ✨ What's one opportunity you've been hesitating to pursue? Drop it below ⬇️ Sometimes saying it out loud is the first step toward making it happen. #HBCUHeroes #ApplyAnyway #StudentSuccess #CareerGrowth #InternshipSeason #FutureLeaders #MindsetShift #CareerReadiness #YoungProfessionals #CollegeLife #ConfidenceBuilding #PersonalGrowth #HBCUCommunity #BlackExcellence #LevelUp

Imposter syndrome is loud. Your experience is louder. Don't wait to "feel" ready to apply, decide. That job you think is out of reach might be your growth move. #TechConfidence #ApplyAnyway #CILAcademy

So many need to hear this, especially women, who routinely skip apps because they don't meet every single qualification. Apply anyway. For the experience, the feedback, and the chance to improve. #WomenInSTEM #WomenInScience #ApplyAnyway
Apply to that thing you don’t think you’re qualified for. If you’re looking for a sign - this is it!

Yes! I can attest @rebeccabermanmd @UCSF IM was getting great residents with holistic review since before it was cool... was it ever not cool? Not here @McGovernMed @UTHimres! Looking forward to seeing some great applications today! #applyanyway #ERAS #match2021
In case you're still making some game-time decisions or weren't sure how serious @UCSF Internal Medicine is about holistic review... #MedTwitter #ApplyAnyway #JustSayin' #ERAS2021 #Match2021

Very important message! As a member of the below average Step 1 score club 🙋‍♂️, I heard so much abt score cutoffs, etc & was hesitant about where I applied for residency. I'm so grateful a mentor reassured me it did not determine who I'd be as a doctor & told me to #ApplyAnyway.

@UCSFIMChiefs Add me to this list of people who decided to #applyanyway 🙋‍♀️! With no former alumni in the program and no California ties, I was told it was a long-shot. Here I am! #MedStudentTwitter #MedTwitter
We read applications using HOLISTIC REVIEW! If you're planning not to apply b/c an adviser told you not to, please #applyanyway - two of us (current chief res) were told not to apply because "they won't interview you" ...sometimes well-intentioned advice is misguided advice!
