The best case scenario for everyone is the US wins tonight and gets their ass beat by Spain. American soccer gets its best case scenario for this World Cup and the Euro’s get to enjoy an American beatdown by a perennial power. Win-win

I’m baffled…. This happens in college sports all the time. Rules and protocols are changed. FIFA and the IOC also do this all the time. We do not have to stand above every other nation. They break rules and get exceptions regularly. If Trump did this…. Well good

I’m so tired of having to calibrate my reaction to anything based on Donald Trump. He sucks. I have voted against him 3 times. He took me from a “independent” voter to a full on lib. Trump doing this one thing is fine. I don’t have to care that he did it. Just that it got done.
the nonchalant/ironic embrace/supportive reaction to FIFA bending for the USMNT from even NY “libs” helps underscore how much more of the country can be trumpy than it’s willing to admit. corruption? par for the course so who cares? even funny/great—especially if you’re winning

The simple truth is LeBron has to make a decision and soon. He’s holding up the market. It’s fine for a few days, but this needs to end shortly
In the latest Game Over podcast, Rich Paul said he hasn’t had a timetable conversation with LeBron, and hasn’t spoken to LeBron about his decision recently as he wanted him to enjoy the holiday weekend with his family.

You are either with us on the Balogun issue or against us, but if you are against you’re not allowed back on train later. Go ahead and sit on your moral high horse, but it’s a fake horse. Every team in the World Cup would do the same things if given the opportunity

Lmao. The “internationals” really only seem keen on some of the rules. They want to ignore that UEFA said nothing when FIFA let Ronaldo play and they want to ignore that VAR was improperly used. They are clearly just mad that we have arrived
The only huge cultural difference I'm seeing is that "internationals" are keen on the rules applying equally to all, while Americans want the rules set aside at the first sign of inconvenience to their own side.

So UEFA will ask Portugal to sit Ronaldo this afternoon right?
Uefa statement released on Folarin Balogun's ban being suspended. Very strong stuff. Some snippets. "A minimum automatic suspension of one match following a red card is not a discretionary option and does not require the decision of a competent body to be enacted. 1/3

It’s like if you took Arrowhead and made it the size of Michigan Stadium, put it 2,000 feet higher than Denver, and filled it with Eagles and Knicks fans
Azteca Stadium must be absolutely magical with how all of the announcers talk about it.
