Slowly, after some time, they may even say, “Please drink less water too, we need it to produce ethanol.” Now it is becoming clear why the great Prime Minister does not hold press conferences. He probably knows that he may not be able to answer even five serious questions. If questions are asked about development, education, national security, healthcare, and corruption, then he himself might need to drink plenty of water.

*Madness!* *Poor Nagas. And combined tribes.* *First* - a slap by Meiteis on the face of *UNC* who are demanding no border fencing. They are not even saying that the fencing should be only in the Kuki dominated border areas. They are challenging the UNC by not qualifying their demand by excluding Naga dominated borders. It is an insult and a challenge. *And the UNC will pretend that the demand of Arambai Tenggol is just a statement*. UNC cannot achieve their ‘no border fencing demand’ in isolation. They should make ‘no border fence’ demand as a concerted demand along with *Naga Hoho* or tribes of Nagaland. At least try and rope in the 6 or 7 tribes of eastern Nagaland who have villages across the border. *Second* - a slap by Meiteis on the face of tribals by their demand for ST status when they are already SC and OBC. Now they want ST status to grab tribal lands from “hill areas”. They don’t need ST for government jobs. *The Meiteis* are getting into the IAS and IPS under the SC and OBC quotas. The justification that the ST demand is for government jobs is just a ruse. *They want ST status for grabbing tribal lands in “hill areas*”. Do not be fooled by the pretentious words of Meiteis. They have been trained in palace intrigues for centuries and are using their deceits on the rustic and foolish tribals. Grow up Naga CSOs and people. Ask for a state/UT now. It is a legitimate demand as provided in the Constitution. If the peace negotiators cannot ask for it, and they prevent the *Nagas of Manipur* to improve their rural governance through a Sixth Schedule that will also afford protection of customary and traditional practises over land, forests, rivers, etc., why should the Naga tribes not stand up and to protect themselves against the aggression of Meiteis and ask for a state/UT. *A separate state/UT* is the only option that will save the tribes from losing their tribal lands since they will be separated from Manipur and Manipur laws will not be applicable in the new state/UT. *How long will the Nagas of Manipur bear the humiliation from Meiteis?* *The Meiteis* do not care for the tribes. They will continue to push for policies to subjugate the tribes. They are in a favourable position as the BJP governments at state and centre are in favour of Hindu resurgence in Manipur. *Why are the tribes, especially the Nagas of Manipur, still sleeping?* The Kukis etc are awake and have asked for a separate administration. *Do the Nagas of Manipur not realise that they are the next victim?* When that happens the Kukis etc will stand back and look at Nagas as spectators. *Also, remember the Nagas of Nagaland do not care for Nagas of Manipur.* Otherwise they would have joined hands with UNC and made a demand for no fencing at the border. *Why are they silent?* *Third* - related to the desire of Meiteis to become ST is the response of Manipur tribes to the challenge thrown by the Meiteis. The tribes of Manipur have to unite now and demand for the *Sixth Schedule*. Without this the tribal customary and traditional practises covering land, forest, rivers, etc cannot be a legal document. Sixth Schedule can give law making powers to the autonomous district/territorial council and the laws are approved by the Governor. With tribal laws our land will be safeguarded.
