Om Malik embodied a Silicon Valley that feels like a fading memory. Writing that was Insightful, curious, and incisive. Never self-promotional, superficial, or performative. We grew up waiting for his missives. I miss them already. Rest in peace Om.
It is with profound sadness that we share the news of Om Malikโ€™s passing. Itโ€™s difficult to state the impact that @om had on all of our lives at True. Om was the first Founder we funded when we started True. In our Presidio office, Om discussed his idea for a new type of media company. That idea would later become GigaOm. Om was a brilliant Founder, an amazing teammate and Partner at True, a prolific writer, a gifted photographer, and a sage and valuable advisor to so many in the technology ecosystem. Om was brilliant, thoughtful, humorous, profoundly kind, and deeply curious. He was also relentless when he had an idea or story. Om was brave - he never shied away from sharing his views or pushing for the truth. We were very, very lucky to call Om our Partner and friend at True for these last many years. For today, we simply encourage you to take a moment to remember this beautiful soul and great thinker who was in our midst. He would ask us to slow down a bit. Om would want us to think deeper, express our love for one another a lot more. Above all else, Om wanted us all to retain our humanity and care for each other in our brilliant quest to rebuild the world. We love you Om. Team True om.co/2026/06/24/1966-2026/

True. Two of the most capable founders I've backed: - top ranked Counter-Strike player - top ranked WoWC player
if you are diamond at league of legends the only thing stopping you from building a billion dollar company is finding a problem you are so excited by that you never think about anything else

We at @AmplifyPartners are launching a writing fellowship. It's for technical people (devs, researchers, etc.) with a focus area who want 2-3 months, some money, and my editing to research write. Help us fight back against the onslaught of slop and dumb attention-maxxing.

It takes some work to appreciate the differences among AI x Bio companies, but @boltz_bio is operating on a different level. Boltz continues to deliver SOTA models, the workflows and tools that scientists need, and an ecosystem of 3rd party integrations - while staying true to an Open Source ethos that prioritizes innovation and collaboration. The result? Scientists get breakthrough-ready solutions without walled gardens, insane pricing, or unrealistic promises.
Big news from Boltz - our biggest update yet! ๐Ÿš€ Today weโ€™re releasing two new state-of-the-art models for protein and small molecule design with extensive wet lab validation and a new API to run all of our models on scalable GPUs wherever you (or your agents) work! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Climb the right ladders
Where you start your VC career can make or break it. Most people choose wrong. My thoughts after nearly twenty years of hiring and promoting junior VCs.

@ScribeHow just crossed $100M ARR. Today, our 90,000 enterprise customers include nearly half the Fortune 500. I shared this news with @jonfortt on @CNBC earlier today, but I still vividly remember our first deal for $7K! Iโ€™m proud of our team and grateful for our customers. The reality is, weโ€™re just in the first inning. Most companies are still very far from the AI transformation they imagined. A lot of AI usage at work is still for personal productivity: itโ€™s not locked into where and how an org creates its value. The models arenโ€™t the problem. Itโ€™s that they arenโ€™t being taught enough about the business. AI has a context problem. AI gets dropped into companiesโ€จwithout knowing HOW work actually gets done. Thatโ€™s thousands of workflows AI canโ€™t see. Dozens of decisions it canโ€™t trace or recreate. AI doesnโ€™t understand your org at all.โ€จ Missing workflow context is now an existential problem for the enterprise. Without context, AI canโ€™t function. It just delivers generic output, or confidently gets things wrong. For AI to actually work inside enterprises, something fundamental has to change. Thatโ€™s why weโ€™re witnessing a new layer of the enterprise stack emerge. To pull ahead companies need to map their context layer, making it legible to both humans and agents. Here's my full thinking on workflow context and why itโ€™s the most urgent need in enterprise AI: scribe.com/library/100-milliโ€ฆ
