Police originally said "We have no concerns over the officer’s actions."
They have since said: "Recognising that an assault has taken place we are now carrying out active enquiries to identify those involved. Although officers were in the area when this assault took place, they were involved in the arrest of another man at the time."
You're damn right they were in the area when the assault took place... All you have to do is look at that footage to see the officer effectively took part in it.

We never heard Mr Davey openly call out Labour MP Mike Amesbury who violently assaulted a local constituent, for merely asking about road repairs.
Like fellow Labour Councillor Rickey Jones, who asked for right wingers throats to be cut, Mr Amesbury didn't serve a single day in jail for his disgusting crimes.

The incident has been reviewed, and we have no concerns over the officer's actions and we are satisfied that they were reasonable and proportionate in the circumstances.
We would ask that footage is not further shared to allow the legal process to take its course.

It has been revealed that you the tax payer will pay for Vickrum Digwa's legal bid to overturn his murder conviction that has so far cost us £155k for him and his mother in legal aid!
It has since been revealed that Digwa and his mother, Kiran Kaur, who was convicted of assisting an offender, cost taxpayers an eyewatering £155,000 in legal aid.

Henry Nowak’s killer Vickrum Digwa has applied to have his murder conviction quashed and his sentence reduced at the Court of Appeal
The 23 year old who was jailed for life with a minimum 21 year term in May is challenging the conviction after stabbing the 18 year old Southampton student to death in December
The Solicitor General has also referred the sentence as unduly lenient with an appeal court judge now set to decide whether Digwa should be given leave to appeal
