I had a chance encounter with a stranger this week, and I want to tell you guys about it.... Monday just gone, I had just filled the tractor up with diesel, changed metal on the cultivator and heading out the yard to get on with the day. There is a footpath that runs through the yard, a guy was walking up towards me. An older chap, well dressed in proper gear, large rucksack - I mean proper well used gear. Stuff people use when they are seasoned hikers... This footpath is a busy one, its part of the wonderful 3 Churches walk...but you don't see guys like this chap on it very oftern. Curiosity got the better of me, as he walked past me me with a little hand up hello gesture, I called out and asked him where he was heading. Great Yarmouth via Norwich was his reply...in a very obvious Aussie accent. Right, thats it...I needed to learn more... Turns out this guy was 3 weeks into a walk from Oxford to Great Yarmouth, with no real plans once he got there 💪 He was a seasoned hiker, he bet me he had seen way more of the UK then most of its residents...no doubt he was right. This guy told me he was 71yrs old, he is sort of retired but still gets requests from some huge companies to help him occassional (engineering is his game). He said he has everything in his pack that he needs not to rely on anyone - tent, sleeping bag, stove, food, water, clothes etc etc. I absolutely loved this. We chatted for about 10mins, I had to get on but I could of chatted with this guy all day. He described the joy he had just felt seeing the thatched cottages in the village, we don't have character like that in Aus he said. I'm not that sure why this chance conversation has really stuck with me. The way this guy had such freedom infront of him, he was just doing exactly what he wanted yet in the most modest of ways...hiking. I regret not asking him his name, but then it wouldn't of really mattered. I have been thinking alot lately about success....what is it....how do we achieve it....etc etc I wish I'd asked this chap what succuss was to him, in reality though I didn't really need to ask...it was pretty obvious by just watching him wonder off down the footpath 😊

The power of just leaving your money alone in the S&P 500 is crazy. If you start at 25 and retire at 60, look at what monthly compounding does at a standard 10% average annual return: • £100 a month = £339,879 • £200 a month = £679,758 • £400 a month = £1,359,516 Starting early is literally a cheat code. Get your money working for you as soon as possible. 🚀

The new Boss is in the building and gets my full backing. Listening to GON now in his pressor, he speaks very well and I do think he will fit in nicely. Looking forward to the transfer window now!

Next few weeks is going to be fascinating regarding the current and incoming players. Majority are KMc signings and were so used to the system. Is a new manager going to come in and carry on the good work and add a handful or players or complete rebuild?!
The club can now confirm its retained list following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season. We would like to wish all departing players the very best for the future.

These red cards in the opening WC game have been ridiculously bad decisions. Should we expect this all tournament?!

Ipswich Town are now on the lookout for their 20th permanent manager in their 90 years as a professional club. For context, Watford have 20 permanent managers in the last 12 years. #ITFC

Genuinely curious as to what happens with his backroom staff? New manager likely to want to bring his own team in - could be several VERY good people at the club wondering what their future holds right now?
Super Kieran McKenna. 💙

Eddie Howe took a yr out when he left Bournemouth. Bought a camper van and had adventures with his young family. He said on HP podcast it was the best thing he ever did. Really wouldn't surprise me if KMc does the same. And to be honest, I'm kinda surprised we don't hear more young, financially secure managers doing this. #itfc

Gutted. The man that has give me, and all us town fans, so much joy over the past 5yrs. The man that has literally rebuilt our club, and town. And to leave football for a while to spend more time with his family, what a legend. Thanks Boss
📰 Kieran McKenna will step down as Ipswich Town Manager after five seasons at the club. Kieran has made the decision to step away from football management and dedicate time to his family, having been at the forefront of one of the most successful eras in the club’s history.
