Another extraordinary rescue in Venezuela. After eight days under the debris, rescuers from @LACoFD, @CityofMiamiFire, and teams from around the world pulled a survivor to safety- a powerful reminder of the courage, determination, and teamwork that save lives.

The U.S. continues to move quickly for the people of Venezuela. Earlier this week, we loaded life-saving supplies onto the first of four @AmeriJet flights with supplies from our Miami warehouse headed straight to Caracas for distribution by @UNMigration. Our @SamaritansPurse Emergency Field Hospital, equipped with two operating rooms, 56 patient beds, a critical care unit, pharmacy, and laboratory is up and running in La Guaira, Venezuela, where two major earthquakes left catastrophic damage. More than 1,700 people have died and thousands of families have been displaced. Many are in desperate need of medical care and today we were able to begin seeing patients. Today’s update: ☑️ A Humanitarian Assistance Coordination Center (HACC) has been established and will coordinate and direct U.S. military support to Venezuelan relief efforts. ☑️ Logistics Surge: A U.S. Marine Combat Logistics Company has arrived in-country, bringing medium-sized military transport trucks, highly mobile off-road vehicles, and military ambulance capabilities. ☑️ Maritime Support: USS Fort Lauderdale is berthed portside at the Port of La Guaira, providing vital assistance distribution and medical support to relief operations. The U.S. response continues to expand, with hundreds of personnel, humanitarian assistance, and specialized disaster response capabilities supporting rescue and relief efforts across Venezuela.
