Modern military readiness systems have a category error at their core. They measure preparedness — how well forces align with expected missions and anticipated conditions. But history shows assumptions fail. Wars, technological shocks, and strategic surprises routinely expose the gap between what was measured and what actually worked. This thread mirrors a draft paper that proposes a different foundation: Readiness is the ability to generate effective capability regardless of conditions. It is not a condition to be measured (yet). It is an outcome generated by two organizational properties: - Generative Capacity (A) — the ability to create new capability. - Adaptation Velocity (Δ) — the speed at which potential becomes capability. Together they form the Catalytic Layer that converts resources into all real military power. Thread on rethinking readiness from first principles. 1/11

Want to show you something. Here's the SecWar's memo on creating the DoW Drone Czar – technically the DRPM-UxS. The link to the entire memo is in the thread. I quickly (not perfectly) rewrote the memo from the context of Capability Generation. I not only works, it explains the solution the DRPM-UxS must execute. 1/

Let’s describe the cold intensity of the unmanned battlefield with a real-world example. 1) A Ukrainian soldier is wounded. 2) A Ukrainian UGV makes a pickup of the wounded soldier and begins extraction. 3) A Russian UAV disables the Ukrainian UGV. 4) A second Russian UAV comes in to finish the soldier off. 5) A Ukrainian UAV defends the soldier from the Russian UAV. Are you beginning to understand yet?
Ukrainian UGV evacuating a wounded soldier got damaged by a FPV Drone. A second FPV came to finish off the wounded soldier and this happened.

For those of you who don’t know, Hilton Head Island has always been a safe stronghold for wealthy families. The single, basic agreement between the residents and the police is that this crap would never happen. The response should be interesting — probably be a new police chief soon.
7 people were shot at Coligny Beach Park (photo on right) on Hilton Head Island, SC yesterday. Normally the police in Hilton Head are able to keep the criminals off the island in Bluffton but apparently they were able to cross the bridge and bring their enrichment to the previously peaceful Hilton Head beach. Jayden Hawes (18), Marcello Royal (17), & Quazeir Davis (17), & Christopher Caperts (17) have been arrested. Travel accordingly... #HiltonHead #crime #decay #island #SC #quazeir #SouthCarolina #beach #jayden #summer #IndependenceDay #enrichment

@grok, how much would I expect to pay for an average vacation home for my family on Hilton Head Island?

PMC Wagner having a bad day in Mali.
Almost nothing remains of the Russian Mi-24 attack helicopter that crashed near Anefis in northeastern Mali. According to the FLA, the helicopter was shot down while providing air cover for a Russian African Corps convoy operating in the area. Fighting in northern Mali continues.

If he hadn’t already blocked me, I would ask Democrat strategist Jon Cooper how this could ever be considered appropriate — how this could ever be considered anything but an encouragement of violence toward President Trump. What’s the goal here Jon, assassination attempt 5?

I enlisted for me. I re-enlisted for them.
Why I Served. Not for medals. Not for rank. Not for recognition. I served so children could spend their summers exactly like this. Laughing until they can’t catch their breath on a jet ski. Chasing bubbles across the yard. Fishing from the bank with all the patience in the world. Growing up believing freedom is normal because someone else quietly stood watch. This is what freedom looks like. It isn’t found in speeches or headlines. It’s found in ordinary moments that are only possible because generations of Americans were willing to do extraordinary things. Every smile. Every splash. Every carefree afternoon. That’s why I served. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

This ‘Canadian view’ comes from Stephen Marche, a writer with a consistent pattern of America-critical pieces. Don’t expect a foreign academic with clear partisan leanings to deliver an objective take on U.S. history. Just look at his other work — it’s overwhelmingly one-sided. He seems to have a particular fixation on criticizing America around Independence Day. His tone was noticeably different during the Biden years. The only real satisfaction here is knowing that most Americans simply don’t care what he thinks. In fact, being disliked by a bitter outsider who resents American independence is oddly empowering.
This Canadian view is correct: the American Revolution was born in anarchism, greed, slavery, and contempt for indigenous people. Its notion of ‘freedom’ amounted to the barbarous unlimited right to do what one likes with ‘one’s own’. Trump is inevitable. theguardian.com/commentisfre…

Today’s excellent programming is brought to you by… The Democrat Party, George Soros, Black Lives Matter, Southern Poverty Law Center, Teachers Unions, Act Blue, Marxism… … and many fine RINOs in the Senate Republican Majority.
🚨#BREAKING: Absolutely HORRIFYING footage has emerged from a "teen takeover" in North Charleston SC. It appears that a White female police officer was severely BEATEN by a mob of Black teens... including with what appears to be a Roman Candle. This is hard to watch.

If ever there was a day refuse instructions from the authorities, it is today. These are my people. Resist! ✊🇺🇸
NYT: Several hundred people have refused to leave the National Mall despite an order to evacuate because of severe inclement weather that is approaching. Some are even arguing with Secret Service agents. At one point, a crowd of people began running back toward the stage. An officer is sternly repeating the order over a bullhorn and the crowd is booing. Many have begun chanting “U.S.A., U.S.A.” A federal law enforcement officer is trying to assure people that the event has not been canceled. One man walking by blamed the situation on “liberals in the weather service,” adding, “I think this is baloney.”

Listen.
.@VP: "You will hear a couple small but loud voices today speak obsessively not of our national greatness, but of our national imperfections... They will tell you that America is just another country where the weak struggle against the strong, and if they acknowledge that there is anything to be proud of in our history, they’ll say it’s the fact that sometimes the powerless have won a zero-sum battle. They’re wrong..." "What I’d ask you to do, my fellow Americans, on our 250th birthday, is to reject the two dimensional view of your fellow citizens, and reject the two dimensional view of your country. Reject that America is a place for zero-sum thinking, because it is not. Our history is one of people carving a great civilization out of the wilderness. Reject the view of your nation that sees only its sins, but not its grace and its greatness." 🇺🇸
