I feel like this is a really good example of what I mean when I say that post-Forces the term “automation” has just become a boogeyman. Automation is not inherently a problem or something that needs to be removed from the series wholesale. It just needs to be utilized better.

Having less automation does not automatically make the stage better. Automation is not some demon that’s taken over Sonic Team and is forcing them to put Homing Attack chains in levels. It’s a facet of game design that should be used tactfully, and they’re getting better about it

I think a mod like this in conceptually interesting and I’m not really going to dog on it, because god knows I could never do anything like that lmao, but it is illustrative of an issue regarding how a lot of fans think about Sonic’s game design that I’ve noticed for years

Considering this uh. Didn’t happen. I don’t really expect any notable anime news until at least August, either in a Jump Press (which there tends to be around that time) or something for Chihiro’s birthday. We gotta see past episode 1 sooner or later
