🚨 Slow down. Stay alert. Protect those protecting others.
On June 27, Peel Regional Police and Brampton Fire and Emergency Services responded to a collision at Kennedy Road and Sandalwood Parkway.
As first responders were assisting those involved, the driver of a pickup truck drove through the active scene, nearly striking a firefighter and colliding with a police vehicle. Thankfully, the firefighter was not physically injured.
The driver remained at the scene, cooperated with officers, and was charged with careless driving.
Emergency scenes are unpredictable, and our police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and tow operators work just metres from moving traffic. When you approach flashing lights or a collision scene, slow down, stay focused, and proceed with caution.
A few extra seconds could save a life.
