I've realized ableism can be a problem with a lot of left wing Twitter. Please stop using disabilities as insults, using the r-slur and speculating about someone's mental disorders just because they're conservative. It's absolutely disgraceful.

It's a little weird that this time with air conditioning I'm basically telling other Brits/Europeans to hear Americans out.

I am so glad the heatwave in the UK is finally over. Until it restarts in a few weeks and some idiots pretend that the last week never happened.

Can people stop believing bullshit headlines from GB News of all sources? One guy was asked to remove it because he hadn't got proper permission. It has NOTHING to do with net zero.

Climate breakdown is here. We must double down on efforts to decarbonise but that's not enough. We need new rights at work to protect us from climate danger - failing to act now will endanger workers' lives and cost our health service dearly.
64% of Britons would support a law where employers cannot require workers to work if the temperature of the working environment is above 30C Net support by age 18-24yr olds: 58 25-49yr olds: 47 50-64yr olds: 34 65 yr olds: 23 Link in replies

These posts are just pure engagement baiting now. Nobody is seriously this bloody stupid. Guess what? I’ve lived 53 years in the UK. With periods living in the USA and South Africa. I’ve travelled extensively throughout the world, from India to The Caribbean to Australia to the Far East. Guess what? I’ll say this slowly and clearly…. THIS IS NOT NORMAL WEATHER IN THE UK. We don’t have the infrastructure for it. Stop baiting.

I'm sick of people here not taking heatwaves seriously here because they aren't rain. One extreme doesn't make the other extreme better, not to mention one heatwave is way more damaging than our regular rainy day, especially as we have things to protect us from that.

Also mentioning the 1976 heatwave as it's a gotcha like that did no harm as well.

Interesting fact. At no point was the summer of 1976 as hot as today. Not one weather station recorded temperatures of 36°c all summer. Not even in August. Another interesting fact. 1976, if it happened in the last ten years, would be the coldest year in those 10 years.

THANK YOU! I hope these moves against the heatwaves continue. People have got to start taking this seriously in this country.
