At present, Israel holds more than 9,000 Palestinian political prisoners in detention, including 350 children. They face systematic torture, sexual violence, and ill-treatment. Often they are held without charge. 5/7

This is not a one off. It's part of Israel’s systematic campaign of mass arrest and imprisonment that has gotten much worse since 2023. 4/7

Dr. Abu Safiya has been held without charge for over 18 months, tortured, denied treatment, and held in solitary confinement. His lawyers have just confirmed he needs urgent hospitalisation. 3/7

Dr. Abu Safiya, paediatrician and director of Kamal Adwan hospital, refused to abandon his patients and held together the last remaining hospital for children in Gaza until the Israeli military abducted him. 2/7
