After years of work by Democrats to reduce gun violence, this Court keeps moving the law in the wrong direction to override popular common-sense laws. By allowing the government to systematically block asylum seekers before they can even apply, the MAGA Court lets the Executive Branch usurp Congress and rewrite federal law. Today’s decision effectively revises our asylum system from the bench in a total betrayal of people seeking refuge in America. The Court’s decision to strip TPS from hundreds of thousands of Haitian and Syrian families who fled war, natural disasters, and humanitarian catastrophe is another grave moral and constitutional failure of the MAGA court.
