The Bible makes something very clear: Israel isn’t always the good guy. God chastised them many times. But the people trying to wipe Israel off the face of the earth are ALWAYS the bad guys.

America burned Japan's first gift of cherry trees. All 2,000 of them, on President Taft's direct order. The 1910 shipment arrived in DC crawling with insects and nematodes. Agriculture inspectors condemned the lot, Taft signed off on the bonfire, and the State Department braced for a diplomatic disaster. Tokyo's mayor, Yukio Ozaki, responded by sending 3,020 more, grafted from the famous grove along the Arakawa River. Those trees have spent a century paying the friendship back. Four days after Pearl Harbor, vandals chopped down four of them. Park officials renamed the survivors "Oriental" cherry trees for the rest of the war to protect them from axes. Then came the twist. By 1952 the original Arakawa grove in Tokyo, the parent stock, had nearly died from wartime neglect. Japan asked Washington for help. The Park Service shipped budwood from DC's trees back across the Pacific and restored the grove that created them. When a flood wiped out more Japanese trees in 1982, horticulturists took 800 fresh cuttings from the Tidal Basin. These 250 new trees solve a real problem too. The Tidal Basin is sinking, and a $133 million seawall rebuild forced crews to rip out roughly 150 trees. Japan offered replacements before anyone asked, timed to America's 250th birthday. So the genetics run in a loop. Tokyo's grove seeded Washington's. Washington's saved Tokyo's. The saplings going in this spring descend from both. 114 years of diplomacy, running on grafted branches.
JUST IN: Japan declares its friendship with the U.S. is “stronger than ever” as it gifts an additional 250 cherry blossom trees.

The worst part is that we’re barely celebrating their defeat at this point. We’re just celebrating our freedom. We don’t think about them at all.
Imagine being British and seeing how hard we celebrate their defeat… 250 years later. LOL

She lies, then lies about whether she lied. Every response she receives just gives her more opportunity to dishonestly smear the people responding to her dishonest smears. There's no end to it, no correcting the record, because the lies, and the harm they cause, are the point.

One of my grandfathers fought in this war on a Navy warship. My other grandpa faked his age to enlist as a medic. My grandma was a Morse code operator. They’re all gone now. It fills me with rage to see people reframing WWII as morally grey. It was clear as day. God bless these remaining witnesses & heroes.
Yeah I’ll shed a tear over this. WWII vets celebrating from the WWII Memorial. #usa

You have to admire the resilience of the Jewish people over thousands of years.
They both survived Hamas captivity as hostages in Gaza. Tonight, they married each other. We will always celebrate life and love. Mazal Tov, Sasha Troufanov and Sapir Cohen. 🙏🇮🇱❤️

People complaining about the cost miss the fact that this is art. It’s a display of precision, power, and even beauty- as if war machines were dancing. Like all good art, it inspires those watching.
Nerves of steel! The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds flew just inches apart during a breathtaking flyover above the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Too often pro-lifers gloss over pregnancy and childbirth (for obvious reasons- they don’t want to scare ppl into abortions). For many women, pregnancy isn’t comfortable or easy. It wasn’t for me, either. Honesty is important. We’re asking women to do something HARD & put the life they created over their own preferences and needs. We need to stress that we’re asking it because it’s right- not because it’s easy. Prayers for @abbythelibb_ in the last stretch of bringing her precious girl into the world! 🙏🏻
I wish I could talk about how badly I did not want this pregnancy in this timing without falsely communicating that I regret the existence of Baby Girl, because I don't remotely. I've been so angry about the pregnancy. I was desperate after my 2nd in 2 years, after my 2nd preeclampsia experience and the NICU time, to rest and get healthy again, feel like myself again, and get past the horror. But I didn't get that. I thought we took sufficient measures, but Baby Girl came into existence anyways. I didn't get to lose all the baby weight from 2. I went from feeling fat and disgusting to stuck getting fatter, and it's easier to talk about the self-image part than the fear, so I will. Trapped in a body I hated and didn't trust that was only going to get worse for months and months. It's enough to drive you mad after 3 years of pregnancies. I've been so angry. I spent most of my 2nd trimester alone with my 2 under 2 since my husband had already committed to the National Guard before we got that positive test. Almost as soon as he got back I started to feel unwell. All the symptoms I've learned to associate with preeclampsia. The headaches, the blurry vision, episodes of cognitive alteration. Our home blood pressure machine was way off, but we didn't know for a couple weeks, so I believed things were worse than they were. I thought things were almost done by 31 weeks when I got the steroid shots, and that should have been awful because of the NICU prospect, but it was just a relief, and a false one. Doctors tried some nutrition support including B12 shots and iron infusions, and it helped a lot with the scarier symptoms. Then I started having contractions every day. Every other day. So many nights of thinking it was almost over, and it wasn't. I've felt so humiliated and exhausted and strung along. And now I do have preeclampsia, just much later than I expected. We're scheduled to induce Friday at 37 weeks so it really is almost over now, but I had hope for a month that I could have a natural labor without being on a mag protocol. Hope for things that did not come has been crushing. I wanted God to give me either an easy pregnancy or a short one as a consolation for not wanting it, but he allowed a long, hard one instead. I've been really angry. I know I sound dramatic, but I don't think I've found words to actually touch how bad these last couple years have been. I LOVE my kids. I am so thankful for their existence and health. I'm excited to meet my girl. I even like how close they are in age. I'm pro-life without exception or apology. And I will never pretend pregnancy is sunshine and roses for all women. I'll never pretend it's only bad for evil liberal anti-natal women who hate their children or only bad for unhealthy slobs who don't exercise or eat right. That's just a lie. Sometimes it is much more like months of torture. Babies still have the right to live. As angry as I have been, God had the right to create this infinitely precious girl in his timing, and I cannot see the purpose in going through all this right now. It feels like pointless cruelty. But he is my God. He does only good things. He creates life when and where he wants to, and he is right, but the suffering has been real.

The disgruntled commenters say, “Who’s paying for all this?” We are. And happy to do so. I’d much rather my tax money go to a beautiful display celebrating our glorious nation than be flushed down the drain in another fraud scheme.
Look, I'm just going to say something that we all know is true. I'm certain someone will offer some obscure example as an anecdotal rebuttal, but what I am about to say is so true that deep down every one of us must acknowledge its validity. Here goes: Democrats and NeverTrumpers are grotesquely unhappy that the vast majority of Americans are unabashedly, openly and without reservation celebrating America's greatness and its 250th Birthday. Even to you sourpuss Marxist and/or credentialist losers who pretend to be patriotic only when you possess power, Happy Independence Day!🫡🎆🇺🇸

My husband said this morning, “The left may hate Donald Trump, but you couldn’t ask for a better president for America’s 250th. If Donald Trump knows one thing, it’s how to put on a show.”
🇺🇸 BREAKING: The largest fireworks show in the history of the WORLD has just kicked off in Washington, DC 850,000 MUNITIONS — last year's was 20,000 Trump PROMISED to make it happen, and he MADE IT HAPPEN! 🔥

🚨 JUST IN: This German World Cup fan has gone famous for CRYING ON-AIR after he realized the anti-USA propaganda he was fed is WRONG — after an American man named Bob RESCUED him when he got stranded "I was scared of the US...shootings, criminals." "I've FALLEN IN LOVE with this country. This was so emotional. I even cried in the stadium." ❤️ Sebastian thought Americans were rude, mean and COLD "Strangers offered him a ride to his hotel," after he was stranded with no way to get back! "I LOVE USA...I had tears in my eyes." The man even got more sad about having to GO BACK to Germany than his team, Germany, losing in the World Cup! 🇺🇸🇩🇪 PERFECT TIMING with America 250!

Capitalism built the Trumps, and they know it. Capitalism built America itself.
Possibly Trump’s greatest speech yet: “You can be loyal to Karl Marx, or you can be loyal to America. You can be a Communist, or you can be a Patriot. You cannot be both.” Inject this into me veins!

.@jordanbpeterson echoes the same sentiment that @DouglasKMurray shared with @coldxman: Americans are special because we value success. We cheer it. We build. Let’s not let envy and cynicism drag us down, but let’s remember what makes us great.
To the Americans: I've travelled all over the world. I've familiarized myself with many places, and met many people. And I'm a Canadian, although I’m privileged to reside once again in the States. And here's something I've noticed, and it’s a key element of America's continuing greatness: You bloody Americans value success, and you believe in its existence. This is something that doesn't really happen anywhere else in the world. Even in other free democracies—the United Kingdom; Finland, Sweden, and Norway; Australia, New Zealand and Canada; Germany, France, and the Netherlands (great countries all)—a counterproductive cynicism too often reigns. Success is equated with exploitation. Ambition is looked upon with contempt. This happens sometimes in the United States too—particularly among the miserable progressives, who confuse their resentment, ingratitude and unearned skepticism with wisdom. But in your great country, by and large, striving is admired and success celebrated. This means that more people strive and succeed in the US than anywhere else. And it's increasingly obvious. You remain stunningly more innovative and productive than any people anywhere else on the planet. And so I say, as all should who are fortunate enough to live in the western world, let alone America: Thank God for the United States. Thank God for the wisdom of its founders. Thank God for its faith in the free market and in the natural rights of man. Happy birthday, you damn Yankees and Southerners. Long may your admirable country dominate the world. Long may your freedom and hope provide an example to those suffering everywhere at the hands of their malevolent states. May your two and a half centuries of unparallelled success be just the beginning. Your country is the light of the world, and the city on the hill. Thank God for the USA. Happy 250th. Dr. Jordan B. Peterson
