@JPFinlayNBCS small point, on Tottenham stadium, they have been trying to sell naming rights since stadium opened but have been unwilling to sell below a value that is allegedly unrealistic for a European market. They spend a lot of time looking at US stadium deals.

Also @Mitch_Tischler have been doing an initial scout of pod party venues. Once date confirmed, probably should try to get a space reserved as the bigger venues will book up

@simonrbriggs I know you don't write the headlines, but the article references it too, so think this is fair feedback. I don't think it is productive or useful to reduce the BBCs decision to not bid for rights for the boat race as wokery.

It's clear they have budgetary restraints for live sport, and are facing intense competition to maintain dwindling coverage of the six nations, the cost of Wimbledon coverage etc. Would the BBC be better for keeping the boat race which has limited sporting significance?

At these times, it feels important to calm the culture wars, not stoke them unnecessarily.

Essex's bowling attack currently occupy 4 places in the top 10 wicket takers and 5 in top 12. The fact that Harmer is having a down year and the worst strike rate of the 5 show how good they are as a unit #BBCCricket

Also side note @JPFinlayNBCS you would have absolutely buried @PeteHaileyNBCS for claiming $50 for getting half a score right! If you don't get a sponsor for the Benjy bet, can you both pick a charity and if you land it, the audience donates to it? Would be cool

Have come across the most bonkers listing on booking.com - surely this is someone on the wind up. A tent. In a living room. For 60 quid a night #isthisjoe @joelycett Booking.com/hotel/gb/little-…

@JPFinlayNBCS @Mitch_Tischler have been looking at starting QB stars for WAS and assuming he starts this week, Howell will be only the third QB to have 10 or more consecutive starts since Kirk left. In that time, we average only 4.1 starts before a QB change. Wild

Heinicke has the longest consecutive streak back in 2021 which was 12 games. We have had 22 starting QB changes in 90 games which doesn't factor in game changes either. Whilst Ron holds responsibility for poor talent eval and decisions, he isn't wrong that QB is a big issue

@JPFinlayNBCS @PeteHaileyNBCS appreciate draft coverage chaps, and effort from @Mitch_Tischler to arrange his rounds of golf around pod. One question I would find an interesting discussion for pod would be now CY option declined, what does Jamin need to do to have his exercised?

Linebacker is about $20m this year. Would need to be close to all pro this year to even be in the conversation for me, so perhaps have answered my own question 😂

But I guess does the CY decision go beyond chase and also helps set a standard for all future picks that draft status and 1 good year is not enough to earn that kind of cash?

I'm sure lots of people received their responses today from the BBC's complaints team about that deeply anti-trans piece. While I fiercely rail against what the piece said on a personal level, there are some basic journalistic points that I feel this response glosses over.

You don’t get to stoke the fire at the beginning of the tournament by labelling our anti-racism message as ‘Gesture Politics’ & then pretend to be disgusted when the very thing we’re campaigning against, happens.
I am disgusted that @England players who have given so much for our country this summer have been subject to vile racist abuse on social media. It has no place in our country and I back the police to hold those responsible accountable.
