If models like Fable 5 are already being kept away from the public, imagine the drama once AGI shows up.

Introducing OpenScience. A better, open-source Claude Science. • Any model: GLM, Kimi, DeepSeek, Claude, GPT, your own fine-tune. Switching is one flag. • 250 research skills across ML, comp bio, cheminformatics. All readable, editable, extensible. • No throttling, no gatekeeping, no one vendor deciding what science is okay. • Native Atlas integration: many agents, one shared reproducible research graph. • Runs on your infra. Your data stays yours. Scientific AI should be open. One company shouldn't own the tools the rest of us discover with, or decide who gets to.

A tiny retinal implant developed at Stanford University has helped blind patients with age related macular degeneration regain partial vision. In a European clinical trial, 27 of 32 participants were able to read again, with significant improvements in visual acuity, offering new hope for restoring sight rather than just slowing vision loss.

A lot of people will be crying and behaving like babies because of this ("but but I love driving"). Governments won't care, and over time it will be forgotten anyway. It's just one of many primitive things we still do because we live in a relatively primitive world. Everything will change. This is just one example. Like I've said before, the majority of people need to be literally dragged into the future. It will happen whether some people like it or not.

This is big acceleration everywhere China has moved up its nuclear fusion roadmap, now aiming to generate its first electricity from fusion as soon as 2030. The update follows a major engineering milestone in which the country successfully developed and tested 100% domestically produced superconducting magnets, a critical technology for future fusion reactors. The next step is completing China's experimental fusion device by the end of 2027, after which researchers will work toward demonstrating electricity generation. Officials say decades of progress are finally bringing practical fusion energy into view, calling the latest achievement a major step toward commercial fusion power.

Humans are horrible drivers. I have zero trust in human drivers. We've all had close calls, whether because of our own mistakes or another driver's incompetence. Sooner or later, almost everyone experiences a moment that could have ended in tragedy. People get tired, distracted, angry, impatient, drunk, or fall asleep. They miss blind spots, look at their phones, and make fatal mistakes in a split second. Full Self Driving doesn't get tired. It doesn't text. It doesn't drink. It doesn't rage. It monitors every direction at once, reacts in milliseconds, and stays focused every second of every trip. Once it's demonstrably safer than humans, Full Self Driving will save millions of lives.

Alzheimer's will be curable by the 2030s Scientists Discover Why Some Brains Resist Alzheimer's Scientists have uncovered a natural defense mechanism that may explain why some people remain mentally sharp despite having the brain changes associated with Alzheimer's disease. Researchers identified a rare population of immature neurons in the hippocampus that survive the toxic effects of Alzheimer's instead of dying. These cells activate powerful survival and stress response programs, helping preserve the brain's memory circuits. Around 30% of older adults with Alzheimer's pathology never develop dementia symptoms, suggesting that the brain's own resilience may play a much bigger role than previously thought.

AI is accelerating research. In everything. This is superintelligence. This is the singularity.
wow and we're barely scratching the surface AI will figure out room temperature, room pressure superconductors. Alibaba's DAMO Academy has unveiled ElementsClaw, an AI agent that discovered four previously unknown superconducting materials after screening 2.4 million crystal structures in just 28 GPU hours. The system narrowed its search to 68,000 promising candidates, with 4 ultimately synthesized and experimentally confirmed as superconductors. The AI combines a 1 billion parameter materials foundation model trained on 125 million molecular and crystal structures with an autonomous research agent capable of reading scientific literature, evaluating synthesis feasibility, and planning discovery workflows. One of the newly found materials was designed entirely from scratch by the AI, while another was identified after correcting an error in an existing crystal database. DAMO Academy has also released its database of 2.4 million stable crystal structures to the research community, with plans to extend the same AI framework to fields such as solid state batteries, catalysts, and other advanced materials.
