#DevendraFadnavis visited the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) at Mantralaya to review the State’s incessant rainfall situation.
Minister Girish Mahajan, Chief Secretary, the Director General of Police, BMC Commissioner, senior officials were present.
Divisional Commissioners and District Collectors also attended via video conference.
Key points and directions :
•Plan carefully and in detail for landslide-prone locations. Stay very alert for the next 2 days.
• Rivers in Raigad, Palghar, and Ratnagiri districts have crossed the danger level.
•There is a possibility of very heavy rainfall in rural Nashik region tomorrow early morning; possibility of around 350 mm of rainfall.
Cloudburst alert is issued. People will be evacuated from necessary locations, and the police department has also been ordered to remain alert.
•Palghar and the Konkan region are also under a red alert for tomorrow; 500 citizens in Palghar are being moved to safer locations.
•The next 2 days are critical, situation expected to get better 8th July onwards.
•Palkhi Sohla is scheduled to begin from Alandi tomorrow. But due to flooding of Indrayani river, all 4 bridges leading into Alandi are submerged. Therefore, pilgrims (warkaris) should not enter Alandi and instead try to reach Pune from wherever they are. Special care should be taken for the warkaris — CM Devendra Fadnavis orders Pune District Collector.
•Coordinate with the National Highway Authority NHAI to clear debris on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway and restore smooth traffic flow.
•Heavy rainfall has occurred in the Satara ghat region; people have been relocated from 2 locations.
•Mumbai: 90% of July’s total rainfall occurred in just 4 days. As a result, 310 trees have fallen.
Wind speed is very high and will increase further later in the day.
Citizens have been evacuated from potential landslide-prone areas. Construction / builder organizations have been alerted for ongoing construction sites.
•High tide in Mumbai starts from 3 pm today. Additionally, wind speed today will be higher than yesterday. Citizens should also take precautions.
•Disaster management units are in contact with the district, taluka, and village levels. Citizens must follow all updates and alerts.
•NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) and SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) teams are on standby at multiple locations.
•On July 7th too, Mumbai-MMR is likely to experience heavy rainfall and wind to some extent.
•Forecast of moderate to heavy rainfall in the ghat regions of central Maharashtra on July 6–7 may lead to water discharge from some dams. So, stay alert.
•Special care should be taken especially in low-lying areas, near rivers flowing at full capacity, and while traveling on ghat roads.
•Avoid visiting beaches during high tide periods. During 6 -7 July, local transport disruptions and some property damage cannot be ruled out in Mumbai-MMR, Konkan, and the ghat areas of central Maharashtra.
•Citizens living along riverbanks in central Maharashtra, Mumbai-MMR, and Konkan should remain alert and strictly follow local administration’s instructions and alerts regularly regarding rising river water levels.
•In case of emergency, immediately contact the local administration or the emergency control room.
