SCOTUS’s recent 2A decisions hew to America’s natural law, and the right to self-defense. The @CivilRights Division’s 2A section at @theJusticeDept will continue to aggressively protect Americans’ right to keep and bear arms, and follow the precedent that SCOTUS set.

“The Civil Rights Division will defend law-abiding citizens from states that seek to disarm them illegally,” said @AAGDhillon. “This lawsuit is yet another example of this Justice Department enforcing the Second Amendment by protecting citizens against unconstitutional state regulation of firearms.”

“On April 10, I promised Governor Spanberger that we would sue Virginia if she signed this unconstitutional weapons ban into law. I keep my promises,” said @AAGDhillon. “Law-abiding Americans should not have to live under threat of criminal sanction for simply exercising their Second Amendment right to possess arms owned by millions of their fellow citizens.”

Thanks to the SCOTUS ruling, we have new tools in @TheJusticeDept cases in MN & CA re boys in girls’ sports. It is ILLEGAL to force girls to compete against boys and we @CivilRights are on it! 👍🏼

Our great team at the @CivilRights Division co-authored the brief that led to today’s SCOTUS decision to keep men out of women’s sports. @TheJusticeDept will continue working to ensure that sex—not gender identity—governs the fair application of Title IX!

Today is the 3rd anniversary of the SCOTUS ruling in SFFA v. Harvard, which ended race discrimination in admissions. At 100 investigations & counting, the @CivilRights Division is enforcing SFFA against leading institutions to ensure that civil rights laws apply EQUALLY to ALL!

The Dominican Sisters provide end-of-life care, yet the state forces them to house men with women, violating their religious beliefs. The @CivilRights Division will intervene & file a complaint. @TheJusticeDept won't tolerate states imposing anti-religion mandates on the nuns!

Public accommodations cannot discriminate on the basis of race, religion, or national origin. The @CivilRights Division @TheJusticeDept has sent an investigative demand letter to the NYC coffee shop that denied Rep. Goldman service. We will NOT tolerate illegal discrimination!

Previously, when MLB supported players’ messages, it allowed them to wear those messages. Today, the MLB refuses to let players express their faith. This is a double standard. The @CivilRights Division referred to @USEEOC for investigation! 🤨

U.S. Justice Department Moves to Intervene in Race Discrimination Lawsuit Challenging Reparations Program in Evanston, Illinois “Under the pretext of paying reparations for events more than 100 years ago, the City of Evanston has chosen to distribute millions of dollars in cash and housing benefits to people because of the color of their skin or the color of the skin of their parents, grandparents, or great grandparents,” said @AAGDhillon. “There are sound ways for a city to remedy past discrimination or direct resources to its most vulnerable citizens and neighborhoods. An Albuquerque, New Mexico man is in custody on federal charges for allegedly damaging religious property during back-to-back attacks at two local Jewish facilities.
